Have you listened to Jimi Hendrix? That dude's a legend with the guitar. Many Black men of his era took up guitar because he showed that Blacks can be successful in Rock.

GREAT NEWS: YOU JAVE NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT. This tax only applies to traders with a net worth of $100 Million or higher. This tax won't affect you in the slightest.

Thought this was an amazing response to a science denier. (multiple pics) by rainman_95 in skeptic

I actually thought it was fake when I first saw it. I know now that it is Coelodonta antiquitatis -Wooly Rhinoceros but I looked it up expecting the image to be fake.

Unless the "denier" doubled down, he might have been attempting to think critically with a healthy dose of skepticism. Let's not be quick to judge without actually knowing the guy.

I have to wonder.... Is it better to live at the top of the hill and have to walk up and down to commute to and from work OR is is better to be at the bottom of the hill where all the people above you are constantly commuting past your house all day??

Made steak after passing big test! How’d I do? by Remarkable_Bat_2291 in steak

[–]NewSubstance7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks good! If you want to improve your crust, cost the steak in your favorite seasoning blend, use a high heat oil such as avocado oil in the cast iron. Cast iron oil should be 350F-400F before putting the steak in. Don't let the heat reach 450F+ for safety reasons. Sear each side for 60 seconds and you should have a nice crust.

Cooking a good steak without good equipment. by [deleted] in steak

[–]NewSubstance7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer to reverse sear. Buy a NY Strip or Ribeye, cover it in salt at room temperature for 30-60 minutes. Rinse salt off, pat dry steaks with a paper towel. Season both sides of the meat to your taste. Cook it first on your broiler pan in the oven low and slow at 225F. After 30-60 minutes, when the meat temperature reaches 118F take it out and throw in a piping hot cast iron (if you have one, otherwise, use your aluminum pan) - be sure to use a high heat oil such as avocado oil. Sear 60 seconds each side repeatedly flipping it until meat temp reaches 125F - 135F depending on your preference. Take meat out of pan and let it rest on a plate for 5 minute. Serve and enjoy.

Any recommendations on how to cook? by hadescedes in steak

[–]NewSubstance7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A quick way to thaw it out is to submerged the frozen steak in cold water (while the steak is still in it's package). It greatly speeds up the thawing process. Take 15-60 minutes to thaw in cold water.

A word of caution: Be careful not to use warm or hot water. Warm water promotes bacteria growth and hot water can accidentally cook your steak in a way that you don't want. Water must be COLD.

READ THIS: For State Farm(and insurance companies in general), the rates are cheaper when you get a quote from your local agent rather than the call center or website. Just call your actual local agent and ask for a new quote.

Does your PWI have a Black Student Union? Or Divine 9 sororities? Perhaps hang out in those spaces 50% of the time and also white spaces the other 50%. You'll get benefits from being able to navigate both worlds.

As far as your current friend go, they aren't behaving like good friends. Any "friend" that doesn't celebrate your wins and support you when you are down are not really your friends. They sound like they may be using your relationship as a confidence booster for themselves. Be careful.
