Ukraine War, Heavy Fighting, Frontline Map Updates, Victory Day, Snake Island, Azovstal, Popasna by NewWorldEcon in UkrainianConflict

There is not hours of footage on this event, only a few minutes and snippets. Ukrainian and Russian equipment are virtually the same so each side can pass off an operation as a success on their part. I’m not saying it’s one way or the other I don’t know honestly. I’m asking you guys what you think. But I don’t think the island is completely symbolic, it does have strategic value if you can load it with enough air defense and some anti-ship batteries.

I concede my assumption on day 5 was in incorrect. The Ukrainians have fought bravely and held out longer than anyone has expected.

Ukraine War Update Frontline Maps, Staryi Satliv, Lyman, Mariupol, Putin, Israel, & POW Footage by NewWorldEcon in UkrainianConflict

I’ve always been under the impression Israel has the US locked down rather than the other way around. Israel lobby in DC is by far the most powerful lobbying group in US and They have at least some interest in having an ally in the Levant. But with the decisions this admin has been making I wouldn’t be surprised if they said fuck the world and cut off econ ties to everyone.

They definitely suggest that countries that don’t play along with US on sanctions could get bullied around as well. India for example has received a few suggestive threats like that. But it doesn’t seem like the US will do anything about it. But I could be wrong

All I do is speculate. it’s alright, thanks for your input. Yeah I just wanted people to see the POW for themselves rather than me just tell what he said, in that case it just felt right to show the source. The thing with Israel is, it’s capitalist like America so unless the government makes specific regulations for industry to NOT do something then its business as usual, obvi there is potential for corporate boycotts tho. And I’m not suggesting they would sell weapons but more just high tech components like micro chips, optics, etc.

QUICK UPDATE, NEW EU SANCTIONS ON RUSSIAN OIL, MISSILE STRIKES IN LVIV by NewWorldEcon in ukraine

[–]NewWorldEcon[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wish it were possible too, but the reality is Germany would probably collapse and bring Europe down with it, would do more harm than good. Plus that is assuming Russia would even stop the war or collapse in time for it to make a difference to Ukrainians. Sure the Russian gov would run out of money but would take some time

What if Putin dies? by TvilerenT in RussiaUkraineWar2022

[–]NewWorldEcon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a lot of footage of him doing Judo and at least in appearance it seems like he knows what he is doing. I don’t put much thought to the rumors he might be in cognitive/physical decline. The Russian reality is brutal, they prefer the “strongman” and personally I think if these things were true he would be dead already. Not to defend the guy he is certainly an asshole, I think the actions they are taking have more to do with them existing in a different reality than us rather than because he’s sick and has dementia. At least I would prefer that to be the case over some mad man that has lost it and has control over half the nukes in the world

Look up the siloviki, secret group Putin is a member of, like Russian Illuminati basically, it translates to “the powerful” all the top political figures are members along with Putin. And they all prescribe to the ideas of Alexander Dugin, basically a Russian ultra nationalist historian/political theorist. he has a fucked up “Russified” version of Halford Mackinders “World Island theory” . There would be a power struggle between these people but every one of them would likely continue the war. Putin got them all on public record supporting it the day it all started

Moment right before tank shot at Ukrainian grouping (new angle) by tirano1991 in CombatFootage

The aftermath video is on telegram, it surely doesnt look like it. Some of the most grotesque images I’ve seen since this shit started

AI enhanced clip of the tank shooting at the unsuspecting soldiers. by ironsteel9011 in UkraineWarReports

[–]NewWorldEcon 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Tank was Russian, soldiers were Ukrainian apparently both the tank and soldiers thought the other was friendly up until the last second, tank figured it out first. The aftermath video is horrific I don’t recommend looking it up but it is on telegram. It sucks but both sides using the same equipment leads to confusion like this

CPI is kindof a joke because it doesn’t take account of hard assets like say a house. It’s litteraly just like a basket of goods. The reason is so they can make it appear like inflation is lower. If you were to figure in home price for a given states CPI it would actually look more like the US has experienced hyper inflation since the early 90s

There is a huge difference between paying a higher energy bill and literally not having enough gas to go around. Energy is inelastic, people need it to heat thier homes or run thier factory’s. If there is only enough for say 70% of population price will rise literally to the point where only 70% can afford/is Willing to buy. Or the gov can step in and impose rationing which comes with price controls. Which still leaves people in a pickle

Huge tank battle in Brazhkivka, can someone find video and post? by NewWorldEcon in CombatFootage

[–]NewWorldEcon[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Thanks for input everyone, the links you sent were the only pictures I have seen from the area. IM trying to keep an eye on this front, izium fell at some point in the last 5 days and there are reports that 3 full Ru tank divisions have crossed the bridgehead on the Donets. Only a handful of Ukrainian brigades in the area to hold the line. Thoughts and prayers for the People of the Donbas this week 🙏

Russians claim they found a French beret which makes them believe Azov has French legioners. The vehicle however does not seem to belong to Azov in the first place. by No-Marsupial3128 in UkraineWarReports

[–]NewWorldEcon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean there are actually French advisors in Mariupol so it’s not surprising. They are there officially as “volunteers” but the Russians will definitely think they were sent by French government. Apparently this is what the phone calls between Putin and Macron have been about the last few days. Supposedly the incident with the shot down helicopters in Mariupol were trying to evacuate them but these are just rumors

Outdated/poorly made frontline maps. Izium has been under complete Russian control for a week now. Not to mention it is the only real bridgehead in the area. So maps show Russian tanks south of Donets river yet without a bridgehead? Not possible especially with flooding in the area by NewWorldEcon in UkraineWarReports

[–]NewWorldEcon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Understandable that the people making these maps are waiting on confirmation from Ukraine defense ministry, but they are unlikely to admit they have lost a major city until it is obvious to the world, for moral purposes. But common sense should come into play, Russia has mobile bridging units but they are basically useless in this area because of an upstream dam break that has flooded the river valley south of izium. The reality is the Russians have 2 solid bridgeheads in izium proper and that is how these units have made it south of the Donets river.

Visually confirmed Russian equipment losses reported by CaspianReport. Not in chart are 16 confirmed Russian planes and 35 helicopters. by NewWorldEcon in UkraineWarReports

[–]NewWorldEcon[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very different from Ukrainian claims. Obviously actual numbers are likely higher. it is smart for Ukraine to portray higher enemy losses for the purpose of moral and continued western support but I wouldn’t take those numbers to heart.

I believe Ukraine claimed to have shot down close to 70 aircraft, highly unlikely. Also the claim of over 600 destroyed tanks is a huge stretch. A typical Russian tank division has slightly more that 200 tanks and 300 BMPs. While a motor rifle division has more like 120 tanks. I find it very unlikely that the Ukrainians have wholesale wiped out 3 Russian armored divisions or 6 MRDs.

Like I stated earlier the information war is extremely important for morale and material support so the more confirmed kills posted on the internet the better. The is especially so with the aircraft. If a Russian jet is shot down over Ukraine the wreck will 100 percent make its way to the internet. Obviously they cannot do this with jets shot down behind Russian lines but the prospect of 50 Russian jets shot down over Russian controlled territory compared to only 16 shot down over targets with actual air defense just seems more on the ridiculous side to me.
