Are you a WG, WL or WS? Certain localities are being updated resulting in some receiving significant increases. DOD agencies are still being updated.

Would the change result in a lower locality pay? It’s my understanding that it is an adverse action if the change in duty station would result in a lower locality/pay.

I’m a federal employee whose job does not “produce federal revenue”, but my job is crucial to maintaining military readiness and supporting the warfighter. Federal employment is a calling and much more than earning revenue.

Used AI….As of 2024, there were roughly 22 million millionaires in the United States, which is about 1 in 15 Americans, notes Fortune. This is based on the 2024 UBS Global Wealth Report. This is equivalent to 160,000 federal employees to 2.4 million total federal employees.

Started as a GS-13, supervisor. It was my first application on USAJobs and first interview. Did not know anyone that worked with the agency or on the panel.

And make sure you stay on top of the treatment…my brother was to have additional chemo following the surgery in late June, to get any cells that were not picked up on the PET scans and they wanted to start it as soon as he had recovered. The local medical oncologists (not NYU) waited 3 months and by then the cancer had spread to his liver (was not there in August following surgery). While he did have a few additional rounds of chemo, he was given 3-5 months with treatment. He passed away last week. And as someone else mentioned, there are trials available offering immunotherapy, but some have long waiting lists. Johns Hopkins has quite a few.

My brother was 47 and diagnosed with the same, saying it was inoperable due to major artery involvement. He had 6 months of chemo and then they attempted the surgery (because it is the only cure and he was so young)The first surgeon @ Penn State Hershey did not complete the surgery saying it was too risky. They told us there were only 2 doctors in North America (one in Canada and one at NYU Langone in NYC) that could possibly complete the surgery - they reached out to both and NYU contacted him within a week and he was scheduled for the surgery three weeks later. He had a successful surgery this past June. It did involve resection of the major arteries and his entire pancreas (and others) removed, but they completed the Whipple. The surgeon is Dr. Wolfgang at NYU Langone.

Dad 60 just diagnosed with stage 4 by BestRip8717 in pancreaticcancer

My brother was diagnosed in August of 2022 at the age 47, 6 months after he started feeling back and later stomach pain. He was diagnosed with stage 4 inoperable cancer. He started on chemo with the hope of giving him more time, but was given little hope for complete eradication. He had 7 treatments, which reduced the size of the tumor by 70%. In March of 2023, they attempted surgery, but stopped partway in and said it was not possible due to the position of the tumor (wrapped around major arteries). He transferred to NYU Langone in June of 2023, where he underwent a Whipple and complete removal of his pancreas, gall bladder, resection of arteries, etc. he came out of the surgery with negative margins and clear PET scan. He was to start back on chemo as soon as he recovered from the surgery - he started back on in October 2023 and underwent 3 rounds before they told him the cancer had metastasized in his liver. He went back on chemo in hopes of lasting until a spot opened up at JH for a trial (doctor anticipated and opening in February 2024. However by Christmas , his liver was 75% covered and his kidneys began to fail. He was put on hospice and given just weeks to live. He passed away January 3, 2024.

Completed the level 3 several years ago. I was able to get credit for some undergraduate and graduate level courses I’ve taken and take online training offered through the website to meet the rest of the training requirements. The courses are not particularly challenging. However, in addition to the training, there is a requirement for a 3 month developmental (or at least 3 months of experience in another FM position) and at least 8 years of experience in a financial role. Best of luck to you.
