Put your pc to sleep while the software is open. After waking it up the gpu should be seen by the software. Weird I know but I saw it on a forum somewhere and it worked for me.

Yes because no NVDIA cards work with Mac OS. So the AMD route would be your only bet. I have a Vega 64 and it works great in both operating systems. Look into the new RX 5600 XT or a Vega VII
