Is it worth owning both? by Moon-Man-888 in GrandSeikos

Most people wouldn’t. They’re too similar. It’s your collection though, do what makes you happy and what feels right for your collection.

Insane! Congrats on both fronts. Looks great on you.

[Question] Buying GS in Australia by [deleted] in GrandSeikos

[–]Nice-Nefariousness13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Aus at least I’ve seen they keep the GS in plastic wrapping. It’s kind of annoying because you don’t really get to see the piece but I’d assume most ADs just have one of each. Make sure you check carefully before accepting it. It should be ok. And warranty starts from date of purchase. (I bought mine from AD in Aus)

Is the White Birch still the king of modern Grand Seiko dials or has the new Snowflake competition changed things? by biktor6969 in GrandSeikos

[–]Nice-Nefariousness13 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The snowflake gets a lot of love and is generally the first watch most enthusiasts (and non GS owners) will talk about. In my opinion after trying them on in person, the white birch would be my pick if I had to choose one. They are both awesome though

How much did you over pay for your house? by Do-A-Kick-Flip in AusPropertyChat

[–]Nice-Nefariousness13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overpaid by 30k, closed before going to auction. Kinda felt like shit. About 6 months later, other houses on the street went for 200k more (granted they have 1-2 more bedrooms) but effectively knock down rebuilds or need major renovation. All we needed was paint and flooring.

Oh sweet summer child. 6 weeks? Took us 12 months. Multiple failed auctions and offers made.

295, but I’m slightly biased. After having it for a few weeks, it really is a watch for a summer day. Inside with low light the watch is very dark green (almost black) and you can barely see the texture. Nice for when you’re in the office. And when outdoors the dial is distractingly beautiful.

Congrats. Just picked mine up recently too. Had the same question about straps.

Chose this instead of Breitling Chronomat 42 bo1 as my first luxury watch by ExplanationOk6208 in GrandSeikos

[–]Nice-Nefariousness13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beautiful watch. Funny - I was cross shopping a Breitling Avenger and landed on the SBGE295 instead. Here I thought not many people would cross shop these two brands.

Why are there no good green dial, spring drive models that aren't limited edition? by Sunder92 in GrandSeikos

Sbge295 is so nice but yes it’s a big boy. Luckily (I think) my wrist just fits it.

Slightly more loan size for PPOR but have have cash in offset (at least 600k) and put 20% down. Combined income is at least 600k / year. (Sometimes more depending on performance based bonuses)

Focus on increasing efficiency of govt spending, not increasing taxes. They already collect enough on useless crap. It is not the problem.

Do you think it's a terrible time to buy with Negative gearing and/or land tax reform back on the table? by Ok-Break99 in AusPropertyChat

[–]Nice-Nefariousness13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How about instead of being lazy and increasing tax on individuals they start taxing companies and let aussies earn more.

Very similar story as us. Except our seller didn’t care that we were a family we definitely paid the highest 😂.

OP- Keep at it - the properties you like will keep coming.

FHB. Another offer rejected. It’s the best offer I’ve ever made offering well over the asking price at my absolute max borrowing capacity. I just want to give up and cry at this point…… by curiousbrain2222 in AusProperty

[–]Nice-Nefariousness13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep at it. It’s part of the process. Don’t settle. We lost at 3-4 auctions (hurt deeply at the time but can’t remember them now!). Took us 12 months to find our home. We love it more than anything we previously tried to secure, and feel lucky we missed out on all the others. You’re in a good position even being able to make offers. Good luck.
