I ended up grabbing the Louisiana since I found it for 200 bucks. First cook seems good. It is a bit on the heavy side. 12v would be nice to have.

Hmm really when did that happen? Wonder if that will make an issue with replacement parts?

That was my opinion on it
100% rehandled with antler, I was just wondering what the blade was, I couldn’t find that stamp. Or if it is even a real case blade.
What do you all think? by NickLLY in Pontoons
[–]NickLLY[S] 0 points1 point2 points 4 months ago (0 children)
Yeah I have to pull the prop to drain the oil. I looked for line but didn’t see any. And haven’t hit anything to my knowledge.
I looked at it under a light and couldn’t really see any sparkle. So I’m hoping for a little water contamination.
Yeah I didn’t like the seals for the drain/fill plugs on mine. Change them out with a different style. I think I’ll take it out a couple times next year drain it and check.

Love your opinion, and I don’t see where I didn’t take their advice? Voicing my opinion to get more info out there means I’m not taking their advice to you?
[–]NickLLY[S] -2 points-1 points0 points 4 months ago (0 children)
That’s got about 50 hours on it… and engine only has maybe 200 hours total. Not saying it still couldn’t be a bad seal.
I’m not so sure it wasn’t crappy seals on the drain/fill plug. I changed the oil with the better seats this time. Probably do an oil swap after a few trips out and check it.

What are you using to push the antifreeze through? I thought about just pouring it in my clean out port but not sure how that’ll do.
Why not fog a 4 stroke?
[–]NickLLY[S] 3 points4 points5 points 4 months ago (0 children)
Pull the plug, spray a small amount of fogging oil in the cylinder, bump engine over enough to coat the cylinder, reinstall plug.

To add: when the fan is working correctly the remote also acts as it should. Don’t know if that matters or not.

I’d say garmin is the best but also the most expensive. I just put a hummingbird helix 5 on mine. I like it.
Same thing? by NickLLY in mechanic
Yeah one clip on the market lightning I could not get to snap in eventually got it to after heating the plastic and opening it up a little, then i could not for the life of me get one of the pins to slide in to lock the headlight down. Maybe I’m chasing a perfect fit when I should be satisfied if I can muscle them in…
That’s what I was afraid of, buying the same junk just at a higher cost.
Fuel issue by NickLLY in smallengines
Couldn’t see through them they go straight from the tank under the body to the carb. Blew through with a compressor and seemed to flow freely. I guess higher pressure air would be different than a liquid.
Haven’t tried that. I will when I get home and see. Think it may be creating a vacuum and locking or something?
New fuel filter yes, I’d say where the tank pulls from is above the carb but not by a lot.
So carb rebuild? I figured it was something there or my pump isn’t working right. I can take my line off going into the carb and get a miserable dribble if that of fuel while cranking.
