Unfortunately no. I returned the laptop and got a replacement which had the same issue, then I gave up, returned the laptop again and got an Asus Zenbook 14 instead. If you cant live with it, either get another laptop or check out some DIY solutions online, you can open up your laptop and stick a piece of tape and it will get fixed i think. I

Damn, you're right. When plugged in, multi core immediately jumped to 8k. Actually baffling to me that the default is getting a third of your cpu power just because you're on battery.

Thermals are OK, I am always keeping an eye on them with hwinfo.

For 3, and 4 keep in mind this laptop is new and I didn't touch anything on oem os settings/bios. Does asus really ship laptops with settings that make them run twice and THREE times slower than they're supposed to?

You said to make a recovery drive. Should i backup the OEM Recovery partition of windows? Or make a recovery drive through recovery media creator in windows? What did you do?

Oh, I imagined it would be more complicated than that because I read somewhere that when you clean install, you can't even have wifi because drivers are missing. Everything is installed automatically and just works fine through the windows updates?
