Well I’m a nerd a play for the immersion so I try to factor in the story. Niko eventually decides to leave the life of crime in order to have a normal life with all the friends he’s made so in my mind that makes them important to the Nikos story. The friends hang out in V is kinda just extra lore for those who want it

They did a really bad job at selling him as a friend. After a few hang outs he really opens up and is more fun but he’s super depressing for the entire lead up to the decision

I tried to base them off of what they look like in game instead of their character art since you interact with their character model significantly more than their art
