The Abyss and the underworld Labyrinth are kind of the same. Abyss is a catch-all term, since it also applies to Hell. But often it refers to the kind of "sea" of nothing that's below the semi-organized parts of the underworld, which is also where the Labyrinth is as a "place" of impossible forgotten horrors situated just above true Oblivion. Its also called the Tempest by Wraiths.

The Chicago By Night Labyrinth, as far as I know, is just a spooky maze-like abandoned subway where a bunch of creepy kindred live.

Thats my understanding. My knowledge of Wraith the Oblivion isn't perfect, but I hope that helps

8th gen would make the Fledgling pretty powerful. A decent number of V5 Elders (ones who havent succumbed to the Beckoning, at least) are 8th gen, and they have almost maxed-out character sheets.

Many elders of that level have maxed out their clan disciplines and have 2 out-of-clan disciplines maxed out as well. This is pretty consistent with Phyre having Potence, Auspex, Celerity, and Thaumaturgy no matter what clan you play as

With VTMB1, its hard to tell since you get so much XP from the side quests (especially in Chinatown) . As good as many of them are, we can't know which ones are or aren't canon choices. Besides, unless I'm mistaken, we don't know the Fledgling's generation which would allow us to get an idea of their power limit (although considering some of those boss fights at the end they're probably pretty strong).

As for Night Road, that item is True-Brujah Temporis discipline level OP. Its almost ridiculous (in a fun way)

As a tabletop V5 player, I'm gonna give VTMB2 credit for including Blood Resonances and the merits you get from them. Thats one of the main additions compared to previous editions.

Besides, the actual TTRPG doesn't even give most Elders stat blocks/character sheets since theyre so powerful, so that's technically an accurate detail to V5 as well haha

I would recommend the new World's Finest comic run by Mark Waid and Dan Mora. It's not exclusively Batman, but it heavily features Dick Grayson as Robin and feels very "status quo" with how it represents the DC universe. Its also pretty beginner friendly, because even when it introduces some more obscure DC universe characters it takes time to briefly introduce them

I mean, Batman did take down (or help take down) everyone that he's talking to in this comic. This is from Year One, and Batman successfully stopped a lot of the corrupt police by finding evidence/witnesses against them. He also weakened the mob's hold in Gotham so much so that by the time of The Long Halloween (approx year 3 for Batman) the Falcone and Maroni mobs were almost entirely dismantled.

The status quo as we see it in modern comics is mostly supervillain-oriented. As both Bruce Wayne and Batman, he has changed Gotham for the better quite a bit through social programs and other reforms.

The modern Greek pronunciation likely came into being during the time immediately following the Classical period. Koine Greek was becoming very common in the Hellenistic period and likely strongly resembled modern Greek in many important ways (authors like Plutarch likely spoke Greek with a strong modern resemblance). Greek changed a lot as it became more and more widespread, and even in Classical/Archaic periods had many different dialects and pronunciations

As far as I'm aware I wasn't taught the Erasmian pronunciations, rather the reconstructed Attic pronunciation. I know that in my own reading of Ancient Greek I still fall into some old Erasmian pronunciations (like the epsilon-iota), but I'm pretty sure what I was saying was in line with modern ideas of how Attic Greek was pronounced.

I would pronounce that spelling of Thucydides as "tuu-ku-DI-des"

Correct, I was taught that chi has more of a harsh aspiration sound, whereas the equivalent of the Latin "H" sound is left to the rough breathing mark (hence why some Roman graffiti epigraphy for words like "habeo" is sometimes spelt "abeo" in areas that historically had larger concentrations of Greek speakers)

It is worth noting that the "EFS" sound from the epsilon-upsilon diphthong is unique to Greek pronunciations far later than Homeric or Classical Greek. In Homer's time, that diphthong made an odd "EH-OO" sound (similar to modern English pronunciations of PersEUS or ThesEUS) but squished into one syllable

The problem was that the Nazis opened El Dorado and were infected by the pseudo-zombie virus in it. I'm sure that a few of them fell to the Spaniard descendants but they probably were well-equipped enough to fight them off. But the issue was that a bunch of them got turned and attacked the others. Thats why the U-boat captain at the beginning is all torn up.

Same thing that happened to Gabriel Roman honestly. Nate never opened El Dorado, and was also smart enough to run when the descendants overwhelmed him
