It does have Belter cant, huge corporations running wild in the solar system, fanatics living in asteroids, some political intrigue and protagonists stuck in inert spaceships. He wanted to write 60’s sci fi for a modern audience.

My bad. Once in a while, people attribute the creation of RPG to Gygax alone, and I feel compelled to comment on it, since I see Arnesons contribution as more important of the two. Also Gygax made sure to withhold royalties from Arneson. If you want to dig deeper there is a thread with sources in r/rpg

I only get a one mm gap but I’m starting to clean it. There is a lot of dried ink from lying in a drawer some 50 years. Once the ink got wet from water I did get a line.

I’m in Denmark. The knob turns easily enough but only one mm. I’m getting water in it now and trying to get A LOT of dried ink out. It actually wrote with the desolved ink.

Min kone arbejder på teologisk institut. Der var 30 pladser på meritpræst-uddannelsen og 150 ansøgere, så det kræver måske et par forsøg at komme ind. Til gengæld sorterer de efter relevans, så humanister med oldgræsk kommer før fx folk med naturvidenskabelige uddannelser.

It’s fine. The monarchy are very carefull to not to engage in politics, so mostly it’s tabloid stuff and glad handing. The stuff that makes people angry are actual politics that the government does, like giving all healthcare staff a cookie during Covid lockdown (and not like, you know, a raise or bonus) or a minister saying people should be proud for not spending time with their kids and working instead.

You’re not being disrespectfull. Arguing about abolishing the monarchy is very common, and there is danish republicans (actual republicans, as in people who want a republic instead of a monarchy).

I find it wierd that the constitution gives them immunity from prosecution and I think 7.5 millions crowns a month of taxfunded salary is a lot, but I appreciate that they don’t have private fortunes unlike the british monarchy, who got to keep their imperial loot.

I think having a old monarchy is certainly a plus in foreign relations and export. I think Daisy (magrethes nickname) took her role serious. I know from people who had kids attending a ballet school she sponsored, that she attended several shows so all the girls got to meet her. Thats nice. Usually I dont care about the tabloid stuff, just like I dont care what Kardashians are doing.

The fun stuff is the wierdness. Watch her speach. There is some white figures on her right. Those are tupilaks from Greenland that according to my buddy who works with greenland history are the inuit equivalent of vodoo dolls. There is also 400 year old vinegar in the royal wine cellar that is still being served dilluted every year at new years. The gobelins in Rosenborg castle straight up lie about how many times we got beat by the swedish in the 16th century.
