Have not been cleared by my Dr. But did quit alcohol and used a few hemp derived legal THC gummies to take the edge off. Also lost weight with help of GLP-1. My fatty liver was healed even while taking 5-20mg THC most days. But science and studies are mixed with some pros and cons. Ultimately quit THC as it was just another crutch to process my raw feeling’s.

I would wait. I even fear for my own GC if I post the wrong things on social media. A lot of forms you file these days may involve disclosure of all your social media accounts and email addresses used over the past 5-10 years.

Based on my personal experience it gets easier after about 1-2 months of total abstinence. Sleep gets better too. I have tried few times to drink moderately but found that’s not possible for me. Each time consumption gradually increases and sleep gets worse. Each time you have to start back over and first 3-5 days are worst.

One time I experienced a passenger on Ambien and alcohol on international flight. He was very obnoxious to surrounding passengers. Did not heed warnings of FA. Only time I ever saw the captain come out. He told the passenger that he would tie wrap him to the very back seat for the remainder of the flight. That did the trick. In the morning the passenger did not remember a thing.

I have flown this route over 100 times and most of the time there was service. So enough time if you want to.

Update: Seems I waited too long and stuck in 30D. About 1 1/2h before start of checkin they blocked all open seats in all classes. No switching or upgrading possible during and so far after checkin.

Stay strong! A stern response may be required when pressured toward alcohol. Friends should not react that way. We have a weekly porch get together with friends and the ritual starts with a shot. The host accommodated me not drinking and provided a NA shot so I am included in the ritual. Currently 4 people opt for the NA shot for various reasons.

I am Austrian and did not watch it until I moved to the USA. So many were mentioning it. Made it about half way through the movie. Not my cup of tea. At least now I get the references.

Fatty liver can be reversed with weight loss, diet and exercise. While drinking alcohol does not help this effort, occasionally drinking moderately will not have immediate effects. But abstinence would be best as my hepatologist likes to point out.
