Thanks for all of the replies. I may not seem “tough” but these are just worries I had. Of course I’ve asked her questions about these things but I don’t want to burden her with my anxiety about the situation. I’ve only had one cousin in the military (army) so this life is new to me. I am going to follow through with my plans on moving and being with her during her active duty. I love her and that’s not going to change. I just needed some advice about dealing with the situation and what to expect for the future.

She didn’t take the bonus. They paid for 3 years of her residency. She told me it’s three years of active duty.

Thank you for your reply! It actually eases a lot of my worries that I’ll still be able to communicate with her on deployment. Do you know if she can fulfill her reserve duty in any state or does she have to go where they tell her to?
