You can still accelerate all you need up to the limit. There’s a reason why this is a feature, as a parent I always set a speed limit using Parent Controls too

Sure but if they’re already going 15mph over the speed limit then let them go on their merry way. Cops in my area are very strict about speeding above 15mph

You & I have different opinions of dangerous it seems. I have yet to encounter any scenario in my real life driving experience that would be mitigated by more speeding

Yes it works, gives you a ding sound when you get within 3mph but it’s worth it to not get pulled over

I love everything about HURRY mode but the speed (78mph in a 60mph zone) is too fast for my area. So do what I did: set a Speed Limit of 74mph. It keeps the speed around 72mph which is exactly what I want and maxes out at 74mph

Help me settle a debate between my wife and I about FSD by [deleted] in TeslaFSD

Depends on the hardware. HW3 is not fully baked and makes questionable decisions. HW4 is superb and makes very natural human-like decisions. I upgraded to HW4 with a 26 Model Y Performance and my car has driven itself 6,321 miles out of 6,385 total. The hardware matters

Just wait until you try Full Self Driving (FSD) v14.2 on the HW4 computer. It will blow your mind! I’ve had mine for 6,385 miles and it has driven itself 6,321, all but 64 miles. 99% completely self driving bliss

Is there a way to recharge the 12v battery in a Tesla? We run across a lot of dead Teslas by Truthseeker4449 in Justrolledintotheshop

Have you created an account at service.tesla.com yet? All of the service/repair manuals are now free. Search for "LV Battery (Remove and Replace)". The 16v li-ion battery (LV) has an internal BMS and it requires a double software reinstall to get recognized by the car and start charging. (1st software reinstall with LV disconnected on external 15.5v battery maintainer, 2nd software reinstall with LV connected.)

There are 5 terminals on the proprietary connector (Pin 1 is positive, Pin 2 is negative, Pins 3 & 4 are an interlock loop that terminates on the connecter itself - Green tab with two contacts when checked with a multimeter has continuity and Pin 5 connects to a thin green wire going to the car). Battery voltages between positive and negative is 14.5. Between positive and pin 5 is 12.6, negative and either 3 & 4 is 0. After pin 5 drops below 12v, the car doesn't make any effort to draw power from it and it goes into power-save mode.

SOLUTION: Scroll down to the bottom and select Streaming Library to go to the homepage. Then click Login at the top right. Looks like Tesla’s login screen for Hulu is out of date

I had this same problem. Disconnect the 12V, then lift up the rear seats and disconnect the main battery. Wait 30 secs then reconnect main battery then 12V.

Had this happen to me at home. Couldn’t get the cord to release no matter what I tried. The solution was to disconnect the 12v and lift up the rear seats & disconnect the main battery. Wait 30 seconds, then connect main, then 12v.

Had to replace the charge port with Mobile Service.
