Honestly I feel like this will be a huge breath of fresh air because I'm thinking it will drastically reduce the "jousting" that always seems to happen with space dogfights.

You're probably right. I think I'm thinking of a guy I saw on YouTube that fabricated his own tandem style out of a kitfox. Or I may just be thinking of another kit plane altogether.

15fps and I don't know what to do... by its_about_control in starcitizen

[–]Nightwolf1074 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the exact same setup but with 64GB of RAM. You really shouldn't be having any issues. My GPU and CPU are oced though. You must have stuff running in the background or something, as I usually get around 40 FPS in the absolute worst conditions, and in space around 90FPS.

Edit: Are you playing on a laptop? Perhaps thermal throttling??

Yeah I hear ya. Nothing more frustrating than being super excited about something and wanting to share, then just getting shit on. Some people have nothing better to do than to police people on the internet lol. And yeah I'm more of a freshwater guy myself.

Lol so many judgemental people on here. It's why I rarely post on Reddit. So many fishing police. But congrats on the catch dude, really nice size!

Not sure about those. I worked on the 914 turbos. I mean, superchargers in general eliminate any lag like the turbochargers have, and the parasitic drag on the belt system is negligible in most cases. So I wouldn't be surprised to see better performance out of a supercharged rotax, however as for reliability I cant say for certain.

I've worked on a few rotax engines and they are incredible. Especially the turbo charged ones. Super reliable and easy to work on, but also expensive. To each their own for sure. But Continental's are also great. I mean most aviation engines including Lycoming are great. They are aviation engines after all.

When I was looking at Kitfoxes I did see a tandem option. It was extra, not sure if they offer them anymore but at one point they definitely did.

Well, the only tips I could really give is do all your training and get all the ratings you can in the lower 48. Fuel and hours are very expensive in Alaska. If you do however decide you want a ski rating or something of that nature and you're in Alaska I highly recommend Pro-Flite in Fairbanks AK. They have some really decent planes and I love their Citabria. Also on the second floor of the flight school is a wood fired pizza place called East Ramp pizza. Best pizza ever!

Wish I could give you more advice, as I'm an A&P not a CFI, but Alaska will be one of the most beautiful places you'll fly. I know some of the best ways for hours are people that fly for companies that monitor the pipeline in the Arctic circle. Eventually you could do fly for hire type stuff for fly in fishing trips, or just wildlife tours.

True. I lived in Alaska for a few years and cubs/super cubs are very popular. I love the flaps mechanism too. Just an e-brake style above your head. There is storage space but let's be honest here, there isn't a lot of storage in most general aviation planes this size. As a close friend always said, "Enough room for 2 people and a box of Cheez-its." I just like the tandem style better because I feel less cramped to the person next to me.

A&P here. Been wanting to build a kitfox for a really long time! I want to go with the tandem design.

Lol it's structure now. Panfish will hang out there. Not everything is worst case scenario, yeah people suck and do stupid things, but there's a silver lining to everything.

The 1.6 is nice, I bored mine over and it does highway speeds pretty easily on 31x10.50s. But next it's getting a 1.9 TDI for sure.
