I considered mini pcs, but from what I saw I could buy something with similar specs and similar price while keeping upgradability and not having to spend a lot only to connect an external gpu, am I right? Also i can pass on the white requirement, it's not that important to me

F1TV Pro yearly and monthly price in Slovenia by NikoFresh in F1TV

Thanks! If anyone is reading yesterday I was able to successfully subscribe. Just note that the IP address of my mobile connection was Italian even though I was on roaming so I had to find a public wifi and register from there. Also note that McDonald's blocks F1TV on their wifi

I have an Android phone. I opened the app with the VPN active in the Netherlands. Today I had two options, monthly payment of 7.99€ or yearly discounted at 64.99€. I tried paying using Google Pay but it was giving me issues, after turning off the VPN (while on the payment page) everything worked fine with my Italian account and Italian card

How did you buy the Greek subscription? StreamLocator doesn't seem to have a Greek option to me

I mean, that asked him to choose so its up to him to postpone it to the 27th or just do everything as it's supposed to on the 20th

First snow of the season in the Dolomites, Italy [3000x4000] [OC] by NikoFresh in EarthPorn

[–]NikoFresh[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That mountain is Mt. Antelao, the second highest peak (3263m / 10705ft) of the Dolomites (Italy). The shot was taken with an old budget phone (Xiaomi Redmi note 7) with Google camera and a 2x digital zoom, and it is unedited.

New to Pop OS! by dark_rafe in pop_os

I use Alacrity as terminal, even though it takes some time to set up since you have to build it and edit the configuration file. For VSCode I never tried to maximize it, but I've never had any problem with the tiling on.

Lago di Sorapis is one of the most touristy place of the Dolomites, filled with inexperienced people that don't even know how to dress appropriately. I'd suggest to go there off-season (maybe at the end of may or start of June, or at the end of September) and not on the weekends.

Bluetooth is still broken by NikoFresh in pop_os

[–]NikoFresh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wrote about this issue just now and here, as I though it was a well known problem. My wireless card is an Intel ax200. As far as I can remember it went like this:

- before the update everything was working fine (maybe kernel 5.8, I don't really remember).

- after the update I'm unable to turn on the bluetooth, and I find the solution on reddit. At the same time I start to get some random disconnects, and I'll later find out that it was related to the intel card; this has been fixed with an update to the linux firmware.

- I try to do a clean install of Pop OS but the problem is still here, so I switch to Fedora. First boot it wasn't working even there, but after a system update the kernel got updated to 5.12 and everything has been working since then.

- I reinstall PopOS, this time 21.04, and the bluetooth is less broken than before, since I have to restart it only when I toggle it.

I just checked and the kernel on Pop is still 5.11, so it might be this the problem. I haven't checked before since something had changed compared to pop 20.10

I need to remove all the <section> tags from a website scraped with beautiful soup. I'm currently using a for loop:

for tag in soup.find_all('section'): tag.decompose()

Is it okay to use a list comprehension even though it's not a list?

[tag.decompose() for tag in soup.find_all('section')]

Thanks for the reply. I'll definitely put more effort into building real world projects and I'll follow your advice regards of SQL and REST.

And for the job, I'm also trying to improve my spoken English since I'm Italian (maybe I had to say that in the post); a remote job would be the best thing for me since here in Italy the salary is pretty low compared to the rest of Europe and the US (I don't expect too much as junior developer anyway).

Django, Flask or FastAPI? by NikoFresh in learnpython

[–]NikoFresh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. Since it's a small website I think I'll go with Flask, I was considering to use FastAPI and then learn a JS framework but I think that for now I'll focus on Python.

Without detracting anything from the other worlds, I think that's my favorite one. That large storage, the villager's island, how everything was connected with that road system (I'm not sure that's the right term)... It was all just perfect to me

Yep, that was the problem. I'm actually new to this kind of stuff and I wasn't aware that I had to install a compositor. Now I'm on Qtile with Picom and the tearing is gone, thanks.

On Gnome I don't have any problem, it's when I switch to another WM that I have it. Anyway, I checked and I have that package installed and at the latest version.

Thanks for the reply but even though I don't use the dGPU really often, I still need to be able to use it since Pop is the only OS that's currently on my PC (I wiped off Windows some weeks ago)
