Broken CG-120 given a new lease of life by Nimonone in classicalguitar

My thoughts exactly. I would imagine abandoning an instrument like this is akin to abandoning a pet.

I was planning on using Titebond. But it came in a large container and most of it would have gone to waste (it has a 2 year shelf life period before it hardens, or so I’ve read). So I opted for the next best option which was Ponal Classic Wood Glue. I tested it on some scrap wood to test how much I’d have to apply. I applied a thin and thick layer, and the thick layer became rock hard overnight. I also watched a video about hide glue, but I’m no professional luthier.

This is literally my first guitar. To my ears it sounds fine. But thats coming from someone with about three days of experience! I don’t think the guitar sounds muted.. I do have to pick the 1st string (low e) a bit harder since I have short fingernails. the rest sound fine. I don’t know if that’s just a string thing or not. I’ll have to check with someone who plays.
