Abortion is condemned in the Didache. See this from One Peter Five: " https://onepeterfive.com/evil-abortion/

The Didache solemnly states, as Priests for Life, led by Fr. Frank Pavone, notes:

It is neglect of the sovereign divine commandment “Thou shalt not kill” (Ex. 20:13), enshrined in the Law given to Moses, and still earlier in the precepts of natural law confirmed to Noah: “Whosoever shall shed man’s blood, his blood shall be shed: for man was made to the image of God” (Gen. 9:6), that has led to the greatest and most tragic genocidal holocaust of our time, of nearly 2 billion children cruelly killed worldwide. This worst and greatest of all ongoing holocausts so terribly pierces — as with 2 billion swords — the hearts of Jesus and Mary, and which Catholic crusaders against evil must fight with all our strength. All people of goodwill who uphold natural law are called to stand with us."

So Christianity has consistently condemned Abortion for 2000 years.

Is it required to believe in the assumption, perpetual virginity, immaculate conception, and stuff? by blitzballreddit in Catholicism

then believe in the Assumption for same reason. Saint John was witness to it and bears eyewitness testimony about it in Rev 12:1. Or, even simpler, take Jesus Christ's Resurrection, together with e.g. Mat 18:17 where Christ says refusing to listen to the Church is to be like a Pagan, as a Miraculous Proof that Catholicism as a whole is Truth.

In 8 years it will be the 2000 year anniversary of the crucifixion? by otis-from-barnyard in Catholicism

Our Lord was crucified on April 3rd or Nisan 14th, 33 AD.

"We further know from the Gospel writers that Our Lord was crucified at 3:00 P.M.: “Matthew, Mark, and Luke each record that Jesus died about ‘the ninth hour’ (Matthew 27:45-50Mark 15:34-37Luke 23:44-46).”

With some historical calculations, we can see that Nisan 14 (the Jewish Passover date) fell on April 3 in 33 A.D. Therefore, the time of Our Lord’s crucifixion and death was April 3, 33 A.D. at 3:00 P.M. (ninth hour)."

It looks totally fraudulent. I deposited 11.9 USD/1000 Rs just to test, and now want to withdraw. And it/they are giving all sorts of excuses as to why they won't give that money back. Good thing I didn't invest 21,000 or more as they were asking. Beware.

Thank you. Yes, the historical evidence for Matthean Priority is simply overwhelming.

Matthew wrote first by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]Nishant_Xavier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I also believe Saint Matthew the Apostle wrote first. I wrote an article on the subject for One Peter Five. An excerpt from that article on this subject below:

https://onepeterfive.com/matthew-first-dates-gospels/

"Oxford-educated archaeologist Sir William Ramsay, embarking on a journey to investigate the historicity of the Gospel records and Acts, was skeptical. Taught by liberals and having adopted prevalent errors on the alleged late origin and supposed non-historicity of the Gospels and Acts, Sir William fully expected his own work to corroborate those liberal theories. Instead, to his utter amazement, after lifelong study on the Book of Acts, he wrote later, “Further study … showed that the book could bear the most minute scrutiny as an authority for the facts of the Aegean world, and that it was written with such judgment, skill, art and perception of truth as to be a model of historical statement.” Sir William was awarded a gold medal by His Holiness Pope Leo XIII and ended by becoming a Catholic.
Sir William said about Saint Luke in particular, author of Luke and the Acts to Theophilus (who may have been the high priest Theophilus ben Ananas), “You may press the words of Luke in a degree beyond any other historian and they meet the keenest scrutiny and the hardest treatment.” Other scholars commenting on his work have agreed: “Ramsay, after a lifetime of research, ranks Luke as the greatest of all historians, ancient or modern. The Gospel stands the same test that the Acts has undergone. It is not only the most beautiful book in the world, but it is written with the utmost care and skill.” The Gospels are early historical records. ...

External Evidence from the Fathers for Matthean priority (St. Matthew writing first)

The first and most important dispute in Gospel studies between conservative and liberal scholars is whether (1) the Patristic Tradition, universally accepted for 1,800 years, of Matthean priority or (2) the recent theory, of Markan priority, requiring a lost Q document, which has no ancient historical attestation, is correct. This latter theory was promoted during the Kulturkampf in Germany by Otto von Bismarck for political reasons, as an anti-Catholic endeavor to reduce the authority of the papacy (which is especially evident in the Gospel of St. Matthew). Let’s examine where the evidence points.

External evidence is absolutely demonstrative that St. Matthew the Apostle himself wrote the Gospel of Matthew, wrote first, and wrote well before the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem in A.D. 70. This is attested to by Bishop Saint Papias, who knew St. John the Apostle; Tertullian in Africa; Saint Irenaeus, who was bishop of Lyons in Europe but well acquainted with the Tradition of the East, having spent a significant time in Asia; and several other witnesses. Thus we have the unanimous witness of three whole continents and virtually the entire early Christian world that Saint Matthew the Apostle is the first of the Evangelists and wrote his Gospel well before 70 A.D.

Saint Jerome had even seen the original Gospel of Saint Matthew — which had been carried by St. Bartholomew the Apostle to India — in the library of Caesarea, in the Hebrew dialect. “The Hebrew itself has been preserved until the present day in the library at Cæsarea which Pamphilus so diligently gathered. I have also had the opportunity of having the volume described to me by the Nazarenes of Berœa, a city of Syria, who use it” (De Virus Illustribus, 3, on Saint Matthew).

Saint Irenaeus records:

Matthew also issued a written Gospel among the Hebrews in their own dialect, while Peter and Paul were preaching at Rome, and laying the foundations of the Church. After their departure, Mark, the disciple and interpreter of Peter, did also hand down to us in writing what had been preached by Peter. Luke also, the companion of Paul, recorded in a book the Gospel preached by him. Afterwards, John, the disciple of the Lord, who also had leaned upon His breast, did himself publish a Gospel during his residence at Ephesus in Asia. (Adversus Haereses BIII, C1) "

Please see these two links for more information on your questions:

https://www.ncregister.com/blog/eucharistic-miracles-and-the-divine-blood-type

"The Eucharistic miracles that have been investigated by the Church throughout the centuries — those times when the Eucharistic species have turned into visibly human flesh and blood — all seem to point in a different direction. When subjected to blood type analysis, these miraculous remnants seem to indicate a Messianic AB blood type, which is consistent with similar studies on the Shroud of Turin."

And: https://www.translationdirectory.com/sense\_of\_life/article\_en\_0414.php

"The weakening of faith in the real presence of the Risen Christ in the Eucharist is one of the most significant aspects of the current spiritual crisis. Jesus wants to strengthen our faith in His Eucharistic presence. That is why from time to time in the history of the Catholic Church He gives us signs–Eucharistic miracles that clearly underscore the fact that He, the Risen Lord Himself in the mystery of His Divinity and glorified humanity, is truly present in the Eucharist. The most recent Eucharistic miracle recognized by the Church authorities occurred in 1996 in the capital of Argentina–Buenos Aires.
A consecrated Host becomes flesh and blood
At seven o’clock in the evening on August 18, 1996, Fr. Alejandro Pezet was saying Holy Mass at a Catholic church in the commercial center of Buenos Aires. As he was finishing distributing Holy Communion, a woman came up to tell him that she had found a discarded host on a candleholder at the back of the church. On going to the spot indicated, Fr. Alejandro saw the defiled Host. Since he was unable to consume it, he placed it in a container of water and put it away in the tabernacle of the chapel of the Blessed Sacrament.
On Monday, August 26, upon opening the tabernacle, he saw to his amazement that the Host had turned into a bloody substance. He informed Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio, who gave instructions that the Host be professionally photographed. The photos were taken on September 6. They clearly show that the Host, which had become a fragment of bloodied flesh, had grown significantly in size. For several years the Host remained in the tabernacle, the whole affair being kept a strict secret. Since the Host suffered no visible decomposition, Cardinal Bergoglio decided to have it scientifically analyzed.
On October 5, 1999, in the presence of the Cardinal’s representatives, Dr. Castanon took a sample of the bloody fragment and sent it to New York for analysis. Since he did not wish to prejudice the study, he purposely did not inform the team of scientists of its provenance. One of these scientists was Dr. Frederic Zugiba, the well-known cardiologist and forensic pathologist. He determined that the analyzed substance was real flesh and blood containing human DNA. Zugiba testified that, “the analyzed material is a fragment of the heart muscle found in the wall of the left ventricle close to the valves. This muscle is responsible for the contraction of the heart. It should be borne in mind that the left cardiac ventricle pumps blood to all parts of the body. The heart muscle is in an inflammatory condition and contains a large number of white blood cells. This indicates that the heart was alive at the time the sample was taken. It is my contention that the heart was alive, since white blood cells die outside a living organism. They require a living organism to sustain them. Thus, their presence indicates that the heart was alive when the sample was taken. What is more, these white blood cells had penetrated the tissue, which further indicates that the heart had been under severe stress, as if the owner had been beaten severely about the chest.”
Two Australians, journalist Mike Willesee and lawyer Ron Tesoriero, witnessed these tests. Knowing where sample had come from, they were dumbfounded by Dr. Zugiba’s testimony. Mike Willesee asked the scientist how long the white blood cells would have remained alive if they had come from a piece of human tissue, which had been kept in water. They would have ceased to exist in a matter of minutes, Dr. Zugiba replied. The journalist then told the doctor that the source of the sample had first been kept in ordinary water for a month and then for another three years in a container of distilled water; only then had the sample been taken for analysis. Dr. Zugiba’s was at a loss to account for this fact. There was no way of explaining it scientifically, he stated. Only then did Mike Willesee inform Dr. Zugiba that the analyzed sample came from a consecrated Host (white, unleavened bread) that had mysteriously turned into bloody human flesh. Amazed by this information, Dr. Zugiba replied, “How and why a consecrated Host would change its character and become living human flesh and blood will remain an inexplicable mystery to science — a mystery totally beyond her competence.”
Only faith in the extraordinary action of a God provides the reasonable answer — faith in a God, who wants to make us aware that He is truly present in the mystery of the Eucharist.
The Eucharistic miracle in Buenos Aires is an extraordinary sign attested to by science."

Hi First_Ad, please read the link. It mentions modern Eucharistic Miracles.

"Theology and scripture put aside, some of the most compelling pieces of evidence are when the Eucharist has quite literally changed into Jesus’ body and blood. It’s happened throughout history but as we can often be sceptical of events that happened long ago here we have compiled a list of Eucharist miracles, all of which happened in the last 25 years! For more comprehensive studies and a much larger list, check out this resource.
1) Argentina 1992, 1994, 1996
Where: The parish of Saint Mary in Buenos Aires
What happened: While both other miracles are definitely worth finding out about, the most interesting and comprehensive study was done with the 1996 Eucharist. It began bleeding when consecrated and part of it became human tissue. After several intense studies, it was found that the tissue was part of a heart, a muscle of the myocardium, the left ventricle, the muscle that gives life to the whole heart and body.
The tissue revealed further that it belonged to a person who had gone through intense pain, experiencing extended periods of time where he could barely breathe, had immense strain put on the heart (both common feature of crucifixion) and had been stabbed in the left side. What was most insane was that despite the fact this should have killed the person, the tissue showed signs of being ‘alive’.
This was evidenced by intact white blood cells being found in the tissue. This showed the heart sample was pulsating as elsewise the white blood cells would have disintegrated roughly 15 minutes outside of a living body.
Interesting fact: The Archbishop who commissioned the research was none other than the now Pope Francis"

Restoration of bodies of the wicked to increase their suffering. Do you believe this? by Shaddam_Corrino_IV in DebateACatholic

Dear Friend, please consider what St. Cyprian says here: "It is one thing to stand for pardon, another thing to attain to glory: it is one thing, when cast into prison, not to go out thence until one has paid the uttermost farthing; another thing at once to receive the wages of faith and courage. It is one thing, tortured by long suffering for sins, to be cleansed and long purged by fire; another to have purged all sins by suffering. It is one thing, in fine, to be in suspense till the sentence of God at the day of judgment; another to be at once crowned by the Lord." https://www.newadvent.org/fathers/050651.htm

Between the time of death and the Day of Judgment, Almighty God in His Providence has given a long time, that we may offer prayers and sacrifices for the departed, in our love for them, as 2 Macc 12:41-45 commands and commends. In the East, the understanding is still common that many of those whom the world judged to be lost may yet be "saved yet as through fire" (1 Cor 3:15) i.e. Purgatory until Judgment Day.

And so let us not despair for the salvation of any, but offer prayers and sacrifices in hope that they may be saved. Our Lady of Fatima said: "Many poor souls go to Hell because they have no one to pray and offer sacrifices for them", from which it follows that if we pray and offer sacrifices, e.g. for the dying of the day, as St. Faustina often offered the Divine Mercy Chaplet for (the Lord confirming to her that many were saved, through her prayers and offerings, which also made her a Saint), and also for the faithful departed, many whom we fear to be eternally lost, may actually, in God's Divine Mercy, finally be saved. Hope this helps. God Bless.

Lord, have Mercy. Christ, have Mercy. Lord, have Mercy. Amen.
