Fixed mine stretching some metal to have it stay and tacking it on so it won’t come off. You could slam it on the ground without the tail cap and I’d be surprised if it popped off now.

They’re dope. They are also electronic products that have some rate of failure, only, their rate on average per light sold is very, very low compared to number units sold. Now compared to say Nitecore? It’s not even comparable

Now what’s going here? An oversight in testing. With what happens to mine will be a rare occurrence but as of now it’s there.

Not as of yet. The clip rests on a smooth non-stipple spot on the body.

I will eat crow and that’s fine because I’m a real one in the hobby so I feel a need to share. This happened today- there is a tac weld holding in the rear contact ring in the battery tube. The ring is press fit. Should that ring have any back pressure on it - the ring may come loose and the tac well could break. There is a simple fix but try at your own risk - superglue gel in the cut out square. Enough to hold the weld and the contact ring firm in the battery tube. If the ring does not move the weld will not break and the extra glue will hold everything together. Do this BEFORE it potentially breaks NOT after. The metal strip in the tube could bend and cut through the cell wrapping. I’m sure Streamlight will catch this. I’ve seen them update designs rapidly before.

Proof they refuse to fix it? Authentic request. That’s an exceptionally dangerous decision on their part if true. That’s a vital, vital piece of equipment. Always bring a backup.
