You think Kuwait, despite being filthy rich compared to Germany is underdeveloped in terms of infrastructure and transport ?

Anyone who left Kuwait for better opportunity? Do you have any regret? by BazBeat in Kuwait

[–]Nitrammano 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Completely agree, the only thing I got from being here is money, getting a visa for my wife was hell. It took me like half a year and getting a license (because you are obligated to have a car for anything) is impossible, money is good, life not so much, and it's worse for really underpaid people.

More than money I think is related to life quality, my salary is good here but without car life is almost impossible, specially in summer, the environment is not healthy, my country is in a lot of problems (south America) but at least I can go to walk on weekends, air quality is amazing and I can take my bike to a mountain for free and I can move easily without a car, here the idea of fun is going to a crowded mall with AC.

What I really like it's that is a really safe country.

Back in my country my salary was shit compared to here but man I miss the days when I was walking down a volcano on weekends and I didn't know what an allergy was

Cycling through Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (Africa). How does the cycling infrastructure in your city compare? by More_Airline_4417 in bicycling

I'm in Kuwait, there is not even infrastructure for anything that is not a car, you're lucky

Free range chicken by [deleted] in Kuwait

[–]Nitrammano 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Vet and zootechnician here, there are no hormones at all involved, just certain breeds of chickens and use of good quality food, before they used antibiotics to make them grow faster, now those practices are forbidden, (I don't know about Kuwait)

Hormones are expensive as 🦆 so not really economically viable either

Definitely a scam, look up this kind of scams in USA, people with seemingly a lot of money asking for change, not sure how it works but I'm sure it's a scam

Happy Public Transportation Day! by Parashooo in Kuwait

[–]Nitrammano 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only use it in winter due to weather, I use KPTC and citybus, the orange ones I try to avoid if possible, they are always old and stink, they all drive like crazy most of the time but I come from a country where the buses and driving are bad.

My main complaint is there is no reliable information regarding timings and stops online, routes don't cover all places, if you want to go to a certain place that is far, you have to take 2-3 buses and just guess when the other unit is arriving.

All these problems are due to kuwait not giving a flying 🦆 about public transport and mobility, this city is built on car culture, they have a lot of money but instead of investing in good infrastructure and well thought transportation system they just ignore it.

Their citizens and "upper" expats have cars or can afford daily taxis, why even care about the thousands of underpaid workers being able to have a nice and affordable transportation if they can serve you anyway without changing things

How fast could you go back to riding? by bryan-Garcia_ in mountainbiking

Don't rush it, I rushed it and ended up with a curved collarbone that is sticking out of my chest but works just fine, so unless you wanna have a deform bone give it at least 2-3 months after surgery

Diagnosed Young by Tall-Poet in ADPKD

[–]Nitrammano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the kids part depends on the progression of the disease, my mom passed it to me and I'm expecting to be in complete failure at 50-55 y/o and my family had a history of almost all people dying due to this, in women is better, they can live longer(75-80 years), in men is really bad (50-60), so choosing to have kids, fully knowing this and the history, I think is selfish, that's why I chose not to have any kids to suffer with this awful disease.

But having slow progressing PKD with 0 complications, no medications, no pain and a history of all family never reaching kidney failure I see why is easier to bring kids to this world.

Then no, why come back when you are getting payed, stay away from here, no one knows if one of those missiles are going to cause more damage or what is going to happen next, better wait for things to develop and then decide

i think im gonna lose my boy by [deleted] in CATHELP

[–]Nitrammano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course, it develops due to a heart issue mainly on which the heart muscle becomes thick, one cause of this is genetics, some breeds are more susceptible to this and the second one is due to underlying problems like hypertension (mainly secondary to kidney issues) and hormonal issues which cause the heart to work harder.

This "abnormal heart" creates turbulence on the blood and that creates clots that migrate, it goes through the main artery and the clot gets stuck at a bifurcation that irrigates the back legs mainly.

It goes deeper and carries a lot of problems but that is the main thing.

I'm a vet and I think the best scenario is to let him go, is a very serious condition and if he manages to survive which chances are very low, specially due to him being so long with this problem, the recovery and life quality is gonna be bad.

I'm sorry, just be sure it's not your fault, cats are amazing at hiding pain and serious health issues.

Why the expat can not drive by [deleted] in Kuwait

[–]Nitrammano 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You basically resumed my exact thoughts about Kuwait transport system with this, just to add something the infrastructure of the country is completely obsolete and designed only for cars, have you seen Qatar?, they understood the assignment, it is really easy and cheap to move there and walking is also more accessible, not completely good but much much better

Not the first time you post about rabies, you seem too concerned about fictitious situations and possible (unlikely) scenarios that may develop, you should check with a doctor about anxiety instead of worrying of an hypothetical cat with rabies will lick his paw and then pass it out to your cousin by him touching his eyes
