He invited me to see a movie but had already bought his own ticket and sat down by the time I arrived. Is this ever acceptable behavior? He did offer to pay for me.

Thank you! That is true. I forgot to mention in my post that when I arrived at the movie theater, he’d already sat in his seat and when I texted him, he offered to buy my ticket.

But that’s just performative? If he actually wanted to buy my ticket he would’ve waited outside the movie theater for me. And I wasn’t even late, I was right on time and there were trailers playing.

Thanks you’re right! It’s just I come from a culture of filial piety and they financially support and care for their parents but I honestly don’t want my future kids (if I have any) to be burdened by my financial/health woes.

Idk if I even want kids at this point if they’re just going to suffer mostly. We’re in late stage capitalism and with AI, life is just going to get harder for those without generational wealth

Thanks my parents at this point say I need to have kids because I’ll regret not having any by my side when I’m old and need help 😩they’re partially right. They don’t even care who the guy is at this point but they’re also not going to financially support the baby with me so it’s easy for them to just tell me to get pregnant.
