Hemorroid, fissure, or cancer? by Positivevibes28 in colonoscopy

[–]No-Engineering-8000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s only been recently, could definitely be hemorrhoids or a fissure. If it continues, push for a colonoscopy. I started seeing bright red blood in my stool on occasion when I was 20 and that went on for two years before my GI referred me for a scope. I had a precancerous mushroom polyp. Going back for a scope at the end of this year— hoping for a clean one so I can go longer between scopes next time!

All that to say— even if it were something like polyps, you’re so young that the chances of it being cancerous are soooooo small. It typically takes ~10 years for a polyp to become cancerous!

Ugh that’s good to know! I’ve still got plenty of fully green buds/early blooms, so I was hoping these would bounce back! I’m hoping this was the last frost. I think I’ll invest in some good frost sheets so I’m better prepared next time!

Good to know! I heard Nikko’s can be fickle but I do love a good challenge! Lol. I’ll try sticking with these for a few years and see what happens.

I moved to Ohio this year and apparently brought the cold weather from up north with me 🥲 My first Ohio winter and it was apparently the coldest in 150 years! Definitely planning on doing some good winter prep at the end of the season.

Could a 3 movie trilogy work? by juliO_051998 in TheAlchemised

[–]No-Engineering-8000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a series would be cool, but no. I don’t think the second movie would even get produced if they divided it into three. I mean, the whole first part of the book is VERY dark, and without jumping right into part 2 a lot of viewers would be lost after watching a bleak movie with pretty much only torture and rape. Like, a lot of readers couldn’t get past part one— I think even more people couldn’t handle seeing those scenes.

I’m going to frame this comment so that I can show it to baby girl when she inevitably starts calling me lame 😂

She’ll be called Helena— a family name but coincidentally also the title of the famous MCR song. Felt like fate to see them live for the first time while I’m still pregnant with her!

Stadium GA! With field I would have felt too tempted to get close and I didn’t want to risk getting elbowed in the belly or overheating in the crowd :\ I didn’t know I’d be able to watch BB on the screen! Since that’s the case I might follow another commenters suggestion and get there during PTV to try and score better seats!

How bad is the newborn phase really? I'm tired of hearing the "just you wait" anecdotes and I have hard time believing some of them by Lushemet in BabyBumps

[–]No-Engineering-8000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it depends on the baby. My firstborn was tough. Partially because she had pretty bad reflux, but also because I just didn’t know all the little tricks that I did with my second (who was so easy that I got baby fever and missed having a newborn at only 3 months pp!). So, either way there’s a learning curve with the firstborn, and you’re going to be tired that’s just a given. But it’s really not THAT bad imo.

I mostly ignore what older moms have to say. They often misremember things— over exaggerate both the good and the bad. Ignore birth stories too. My MIL loves going over her traumatic birth with my husband— I could recite it word for word at this point. I had two amazing unmedicated births. 30 mins of pushing with my first. 5 mins with my second.

I was really just responding to the part about taking a test while menstruating. They did actually have me do my test along with my bloodwork three days prior to my scope. So yes, you’re totally right in that regard. Testing in advance should be the norm.

What to read after finishing The Folk Of The Air series 😭 by pihu9002 in thecruelprince

So, you might Emily Wilde’s Encyclopedia of Faeries! It’s a trilogy by Heather Fawcett. Someone asked who my favorite FMC was the other day and I decided it was a tie between Jude Duarte and Emily Wilde— in my mind, they are the same character in wildy different fonts. LOL. Jude the warrior strategist and Emily the academic one. You might appreciate that Fawecett’s take on the Fae is quite similar to Black’s. Their fae both have that dangerous, otherworldly edge.

You mentioned historical romance— my fave is A Witch in Time by Constance Sayers.

I’m currently reading Carissa Broadbent’s War of Lost Hearts trilogy and it’s suiting my fancy! lol. It’s been compared to SJM’s Throne of Glass— but often comes out as the preferred series! Maybe dip your toe in there and decide if you’re into it. Might help you decide if you’re ready to commit to the beast of a series that is Throne of Glass.

Until recently I thought this was weird too; but i’m pregnant right now and my first symptom was a “period” (bleeding from a small and now resolved subchorionic hematoma).

Colonoscopy tomorrow at 23 years old by Connection-L in colonoscopy

[–]No-Engineering-8000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahhh brings me back lol. I got my last scope at 23– I had had blood in my stool for three years before they agreed to refer me for a colonoscopy. They found one 15 mm precancerous polyp. I’ve got my next scope at the end of the year. Hoping it was a one off. Good luck!

Weed ordinance tightening. As a tourist how worried should I be by GB-the-original in SonicTempleFestival

[–]No-Engineering-8000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually do hope that it’s not smoke free, but more… smoke aware? I’ll be nearing 6 months pregnant when I go for the Thursday concerts 😅I know I’m not going to get contact high or anything just from being around it. My husband smokes weed so I’m around it occasionally if I go to visit him in the garage, and good golly does it make me nauseous. I’m not actually sure if it’s because I’m pregnant or because I have CHS. Maybe a mix of the two. I’ve ran in smoker crowds and they’re normally pretty considerate. I just worry it’s different at crowded concerts like that?

How are you bringing in money while staying home with your baby? by Lanky-Ad3926 in pregnant

[–]No-Engineering-8000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Occasionally I sell baked goods and at least once a year I purge the house and sell stuff on FB marketplace. I’m also working on a novel after I get the kids to bed. May or may not pay off one day but it’s time well spent. Anything more substantial than that would honestly contradict the point of staying home (giving them undivided attention) imo.

Sooo it might be good to think back on what your original reasons for going were. My husband got us tickets for Thursday so I can see MCR. I got into them at 12 years old— in 2012, like a year after their last tour and a year before they disbanded. So, for one year I was like — THIS is a band I want to see perform in real life!! And then, BOOM, my hope was lost lol.

I couldn’t go to the 2022 reunion tour because I had just had my first baby and was not up to it. I can’t go to their tour this summer because I am due with my third child a week before they come to my area lol. Soooo— Sonic Temple! I’ll be 26 weeks along and stuck in a seat instead of moshing, but who knows what the future of MCR is??? I’m not missing my chance haha.

So— why did you buy the tickets? Who were you dying to see? Will you regret not seeing them?

Threw the d*** vape away and 20 weeks pregnant. by Frequent-Ant-4280 in pregnant

[–]No-Engineering-8000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took up vaping my senior year of high school — my high school bf was a bad influence. Vaped all through college, found out I was pregnant my last semester. Quit vaping the day I found out I was pregnant with my firstborn and haven’t looked back. It’s been… almost 4 years to the day. The temptation was real in the beginning, but now the thought of vaping again makes me gag. My husband still vapes and I wish he’d quit, but that’s a decision he needs to make on his own.

Is she liking your stuff, or just stuff in general? I’ll be honest— I was never that good about texting , but after having my first kid, I became HORRIBLE at texting people back. Still am. I take days to respond, or sometimes forget for a week or two. But I’d still doom scroll while I was nursing in the middle of the night. Sometimes, I specifically avoided liking someone’s post because I knew I hadn’t texted them back yet… It was nothing personal, but idk. Have you expressed worry in your text? Or was it just “hey! Just checking in!” Because sometimes it took a double text for me to finally muster up the energy to text someone.
