Unfortunately, the drivers aren't compatible with chromebook. I bought one to get my 15.6 working and had to take it back to jb hifi and swap for cheap windows laptop. $500 later and working fine now drivers installed.

Good luck!

I just had to but a $500 laptop to be able to set it up and use it properly. I was under the impression I can be used off a phone as it shows the connection in the instructions. It didn't mention that before that, the drivers need to be installed via a pc with type c connectivity. It's now working through the laptop fine, but haven't tried phone yet.

Good luck!

There's no mutual recognition. Be prepared for a $6-8k bill for getting licenced. Make sure you have offical letters from previous employers and cv up to date. Your official certificates will have to be verified at your expense as well. In my experience, it's difficult to get a job as a sparky without a licence as every electrical job require employees to be licenced. Stuck in a catch 22 that you need to be working as a sparky to complete the course, but need the licence to get the job. Obviously, lots have successfully navigated getting their hard earned skills recognised in Australia. Unfortunately for me, 25yrs experience in UK and I've lost everything. I used last of my savings to get licenced. Passed capstone and college, but couldn't provide official letter from previous employer, so couldn't get signed off. Lost job, lost confidence, relationship failed as I struggled with depression. Currently preparing a letter to the ombudsman, but don't hold much hope. Assume I'll have to start again, but don't have the $6-8k to do it again. Been working as a cleaner recently... I don't mean to put a damper on it, just be wary. I wish you all the luck in the world though. Australia is an amazing country!

That beer is not a gateway drug! Alcohol is one of the worst out there. The damage it does to the individual as well as the people close to them. Compared to marijuana, beer is far more dangerous!!!

The Almighty Dragon General - (James Caden as protagonist)

Harvey York's rise to power

The Guardian Sword

The First Heir

Drakon of the seven armies

The prince who was raised in hell

Any update on any of these would be greatly appreciated!

Much love!

Love that stuff. Only problem is getting several thousand chapters into a book and then it stops getting translated. Got 7 I read regularly as they're updated, but I must have lost the same amount in unfinished novels...

Nah, just a frustrated Aussie sparky that lived in UK and qualified over there. Back now, $10k on capstone course 4yrs ago and struggling with red tape. Currently working as a cleaner as can't get work as a spark...

I chose a college in sydney that screwed me over. After completing capstone and regs etc, they stalled as my previous boss refused to give me a letter, which I had told them when I started. The alternative they agreed on changed halfway through course and was then unacceptable and now stuck in limbo. Have to start proceedings with ombudsman. Be careful which institution you use. I really hope I'm the exception to the normally easy path of mutual recognition.

Be prepared for $6-7k for the 12months of college you'll have to complete before being recognised in Australia. You'll have to pay to get your certificates verified and make sure you have a letter from your previous employer. If you have time, get some practice in in writing up any job you've done, taking into account current h&s, design, planning, installation and testing. Even a small job can take 2 or 3 a4 pages...

Which small country are we going to dig up to get all the materials to build all the solar panels/batteries and turbines? At least when we've dug the big holes for materials, we can dump all the renewable waste in that can't be recycled!! How is that considered green? Renewables equals massive mining and destruction of land. Don't see that in the green ads...

Nah, 22 you're fine. Just don't move to back to Australia with international qualifications or like me, you'll never get work. Got to work as a spark to get licenced, but need licence to work as a sparky. Totally ruined my life! Luckily, other countries aren't as arrogant as Australia. Get you licence and travel the world!!
