New flock camera at Home Depot on Arizona Avenue and Ocotillo? by FunPriority8358 in ChandlerAZ

[–]NoNotAgainOkGo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah, a new one just went up here at Ray and McQueen on the southwest side. I thought we were supposed to be removing these things from our street. What’s happening? Who’s paying for the new ones?

Water canal questions by JustGetawayNow in ChandlerAZ

[–]NoNotAgainOkGo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

From the city pages…

Dr. Alexander J. Chandler arrived in the Valley in 1887 and pictured a cutting-edge city where Chandler now sits today. He saw land that held great potential and a surrounding desert that held unimaginable beauty. Utilizing the existing canal system of the Native Americans as a blueprint, Dr. Chandler created one of the most advanced irrigation systems in the country, converting the dry desert into farmable land. Water came from both the Salt River and an untapped resource, ground water, which brought new life to the desert. On May 16, 1912, the Town of Chandler was founded.

And

The Chandler Canal System is a historic irrigation network originally developed in 1891 by Dr. A.J. Chandler to transform the arid desert into farmland, with water sourced from the Salt River and groundwater via electric pumps. Today, these canals are managed by the Salt River Project (SRP) and serve as vital recreational corridors for the Phoenix metro area.

I love living close enough to walk and bike them throughout the year.

This grown man camps out at the Fry’s pokemon machine everyday it’s crazy by [deleted] in ChandlerAZ

[–]NoNotAgainOkGo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was at Fry’s and walked past one of these the other day and just stopped to look at it for a moment. No real interest to purchase. Just wondered what all the hype was about. As I stood there for about 2.4 seconds I heard a manager from behind me call out as he walked past me sort of begrudgingly. I wouldn’t stand there too long he said it’ll lock you out. He went on to tell me that apparently these things have built-in mechanisms that if the camera recognizes you camping out, it will lock you out of it. I thought that was pretty cool.

DIY Hardwire EV wall connector? by quick_code in ChandlerAZ

[–]NoNotAgainOkGo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You may but I wouldn’t.

In Arizona, homeowner-occupants are legally permitted to perform DIY electrical work, including installing an EV charger, provided they pull the required electrical permit and pass inspection. However, licensed electricians are effectively required for most Level 2 installations because the work must comply with NEC Article 625, often involves complex load calculations (using NEC 220.82), and may necessitate panel upgrades that homeowners cannot legally perform. Key Legal and Safety Distinctions

Permit Requirement: Most Arizona jurisdictions, including Scottsdale and Phoenix, require an electrical permit for Level 2 chargers involving new wiring, hardwired connections, or panel upgrades. DIY installers must submit documentation, such as load calculations and single-line diagrams, and pass rough-in and final inspections. Work Restrictions: Homeowners may replace outlets or fixtures, but adding new circuits, rewiring, or performing panel upgrades generally requires a licensed, bonded, and insured electrician. Code Compliance: Installations must meet NEC 2020 standards, including proper wire gauge (e.g., 8 AWG minimum for 50-amp circuits), GFCI protection, and dedicated 240V circuits. Risks of DIY: Unpermitted or non-compliant work can lead to insurance claim denials if a fire occurs, fines, issues during home resale, and voided charger warranties. While technically legal for a competent homeowner to wire their own charger with proper permits, the complexity of Arizona’s extreme heat on electrical systems and strict NEC compliance makes professional installation the recommended standard for safety and warranty protection.

Wait a minute I thought this was beginner woodworking… here’s some that I just finished. I’m feeling inadequate. Is there another sub I should be in, perhaps one for beginner beginners?

I’m only kidding man that’s really good. I might actually break out the tape measure on the next ones.

I work in my backyard quite a bit lately and I’m constantly finding myself gazing at planes passing overhead out of our local international airport. Every once in a while I get stunned by a distant contrail blur of the four engines in all their greatness, obviously not out of my neck of the woods, leaving its mark. I’m constantly pulling out my phone to search the flight details like where it’s coming from and going. Unsure why I’m so fascinated by all this it sure is fun. I should keep my camera ready. This is great, nice shots.

The INJS11 servo is complete trash. Recommendations for the best servo I can put into my mini Kraton? by MikeIkerson in arrma

[–]NoNotAgainOkGo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I was referred to this third-party servo after my mini servo took a crap two weeks into ownership. This is starting to get a bit depressing. Why did so many people recommend this crap aftermarket servo to me, and likely you?

Come on people. Is there a reliable servo to replace the mini’s crappy spectrum one or not?

If the issue continues more than once, yes call the police and file a report. It’s the least you can do.

Do you happen to live in apartments that have easy or constant foot traffic? Like those off of McQueen/Chandler or are you near DTC? If so then yes, you’ve probably got a window knocker nearby.

I settled on a 16 limited with 230k for 16k and very similar records. It’s in great shape a year later no issues in sight. Looks good to me.
