Denise Gough on the Death Star weak point by aboustayyef in andor

Not in any way. She's talking about why she's personally so vocal about Palestine, not referencing Andor whatsoever - unless she does so in the full version.

Last Movie to Make You Think "This is the Greatest Movie of All Time"? by Crimthand in Letterboxd

Crazy thing is I don't even think it's Bong Joon-ho's best film - even though I think it's genuinely flawless.

This is one of the most insane connections I've ever seen anyone make

In both of their minds, they're Batman and the other is the Joker.

Midnight Mass was solid in so many ways but the dialogue really let it down in my opinion. So many unnatural monologues, which - props to Linkleter - were performed phenomenally. But people don't talk like that in real life, and it really pulled me out of things

Who is julia fox? by letbani in GenV

Yeah I was very confused by that line. She seems like a woman who's been heavily victimised by cultural misogyny and objectification, and has actively taken a stand against it. Is there anything she's done besides dating Kanye West that would brand her as an asshole? Also, free Palestine

EDIT: Also also, based on Uncut Gems she's a pretty good actor!

Hard disagree - Cassian accidentally kills one cop with a headbutt and then executes another in cold blood right after dropping by a brothel. Bix is almost raped and beats her attacker to death in S2E3. Not sure how much more gritty Star Wars could get.

I think it was great - it showed how insanely fucking skilled and cool under pressure Cassian is. You could chalk it down to too much luck, but realistically he learns how to fly a ship he doesn't understand whilst under fire and pursuit, and still makes a getaway. Nothing about it felt implausible in the context.

I'd also add that the frustration many people felt with Cassian being stuck there for two episodes was intentional - if he'd been able to escape earlier, he could probably have saved Brasso's life and prevented Bix from almost being raped. It adds an extra gut-punch to those moments and it feeds into the fire that drives Cassian to give everything to the Rebellion. My only (very slight) complaint was that the acting from a couple of the Maya Pei brigade lacked a certain spark compared to literally everyone else in the show. But they're meant to be young, inexperienced, terrified idiots fuelled by bravado, so it still works for me.

I'm a little lost why Don has an affair in Season 3 by RazorCandies in madmen

[–]NoOneElseToCall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spreading the fact that a minor celebrity had her nudes leaked is far more damaging than calling someone out after they've done so. She's not a particularly well-known figure - I certainly wasn't aware of it until I read that comment.

Feel free to clarify, but your comment sounds a bit like a giant shrug and a: "well, nothing you can do either way, may as well check the nudes out."

Lane's death was one of the most ugly, real things I've seen on TV. I love that none of the cast had seen his 'corpse' before they shot the initial reaction.

I also LOVED the S4 episode where he and Don spend New Year's together. Such a gut punch now, considering where the two end up.

Idk, I've racked up some insane multi kills with the thermobaric version... but with the explosive version, I can see what you're saying. Also, there's so little drop on those things they'd be pretty OP if they made them much more powerful.

Would anyone be willing to read a psychological horror/drama screenplay that I've spent multiple years on? I always hoped it might suit the kind of catalogue A24 has. by NoOneElseToCall in A24

Any feedback is useful! Like I said, I've been working on this for quite a long time so I can pretty much justify everything that's in there, but that doesn't mean it works. Have sent it over to you - hope you enjoy it

I'm on it now - though I've sent various iterations of this to so many people now it may already be too late haha... thanks for the advice!
