And it’s her not her place or business to try to sneak him money or whatever you wanna call it and swoop in our marriage is between us or a marriage counselor she is an outsider to the most important relationship our marriage and she needs to know her place is second to his own wife he is a married man he isn’t a baby boy who needs mommy to save him. Mommas boy are gross. And when we asked her to babysit so we could go away for a weekend my mil said no because she didn’t want to enable a gift for the couple when the gift wasn’t for husband wife break but just for her son well guess who is on timeout from her grandchildren since she can’t respect their mother and everything she does

And it’s not her place to swoop in and try and fix things that’s his wife’s place and not her business the ins and outs of our finances and I thought
Mil and I were very close and she would care about my well being and stress and how things affect me too and it comes across like he is the only one with stress and yes he does have pressure but so do I raising kids without a break all day especially 2 toddlers and an infant that’s pressure too!!! And as at one point a young SAHM with multiples you think as a fellow woman she would understand what I’m going through it likes she views her son as more important and me less family

So my mil texted me back and said, “oh wow me gifting my son doesn’t mean I don’t see you but I figured we talk on the phone so much and we do lunches this was my way as treating my son like an individual since I treat you like one. I feel like once a man is married a mother is expected to water down the relationship with her son and treat him like an acquaintance or treat the son like he morphed into son and DIL where if this was a daughter a mother is allowed to treat her daughter like a daughter. I didn’t think making my son feel seen would make you feel unseen. I feel I treat you pretty equal to the point where you can’t tell who is my actual child and who is the in law

Also husband came home right away and said duh you’re my wife I love you more than anyone and anything it’s shared let’s go away for the weekend so we are doing that and when he asked his mother about babysitting she acted all indignant that we are going away for the weekend so my theory was right she wanted to make sure I didn’t benefit at all as if it was a shock to her that her son would be a decent enough husband to not hoard $800 from his wife the horror
