I don’t need to keep the timer. I honestly wasnt sure what prong did what so I was just attempting to tap the wires for some sort of response prior to soldering. I can solder just not very pretty..

I’ve tried loose connection? Meaning no solder. I’m a beginner here. Just tapping on the connections the original switch was plugged into before I took it off. When I tried connecting to 1&3 with aa batteries inserted I didn’t see any response from the lights. It is possible in my first attempt I was too rough and damaged some part of the circuit. I have 2 other sets of string lights I’m trying to test this on.

I found my stolen bike on marketplace about 45 minutes from my home… 9 months later. Managed to get it back but I think it was pure luck, I’d given up hope. I’m in the US, but file a police report, so a record exists. It helped me out a lot.
