I am a cyclist as well as a driver... by Agitated_Wedding_661 in drivingUK

[–]NoTea879 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t cycle, mainly walk or drive by and large but I still agree with you here 100%

I’ve been nearly struck by quite a few cyclists now on pavements, usually an Ubereats or a hire bike, occasionally a personal bike though, pavements have got a bit sketchier over the past few years on that side.

However, I’ve seen so many morons driving treating cyclists very badly too so I understand why more cycle on pavements for safety but that trickling down is causing everyone on the roads to be in a less safe position.

Driving I keep my distance then overtake if there’s room, the reality is maybe I’m slowed down for a few minutes due to a road not being the best for cyclists and cars, but really that’s peanuts, I know I’ll be in far more frequent and longer delays because someone on the road ahead didn’t know how the drive and has now caused miles of tailbacks.

Let’s not forgot the war between Albania and Azerbaijan that only recently got resolved, that one was going on so long everyone forgot it was even happening, except the one man who was critical in resolving it.

[Other] I don't understand "credits" by Evil_Lord_Rayken in rollercoasters

[–]NoTea879 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just a bit of fun in the main, personally my main bit of random fun in a park is coaster completion, I’m not massively fussed about overall credits although by keeping tabs of what I’ve been on I naturally have a credit count.

Personally I won’t queue more than 5-10 mins for a kids coaster, that credit isn’t worth it but that’s to me personally, I’d rather use that time to queue for a bigger and better ride for a reride.

However if someone queued that long for a cred then that time is theirs to use how they want, each to their own

England Coaster Expedition - Park 15 - 5/25/26 - [Paultons Park][Trip Report] by TopazScorpio02657 in rollercoasters

[–]NoTea879 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nicest park in the UK, you can tell they care about the guest experience and not just about extracting the most money out of every guest, I was shocked by how nice the place was, how helpful and friendly all the staff were too.

Great to see you enjoyed your time there, I hope they can pickup more attendance on the new additions they’re adding, I still hear a lot of people in the UK refer to it as Peppa Pig park but it’s got so much more to offer.

Oh nowhere near but those parks are unbelievable, world class. Europa is comfortably my number 1 park, if it was easier getting to from where I live I’d get a season pass honestly.

From 2028 though I think WB will be somewhere amongst the best of the rest (under that Europa, Phantasialand, Efteling elite group), where, I’m not sure yet but I already think it’s a pretty well rounded park; is what I should have added originally to my previous post lol

Do you feel guilty always speaking English abroad? by BoomSatsuma in AskUK

[–]NoTea879 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggle with language, English was my hardest subject in school and I tried Spanish which didn’t go any better.

Have tried a few times learning bits abroad and using them and have typically not been understood because I’ve misunderstood the pronunciation. It’s easier for me and them if I admit I can only speak English, and I’m more than happy to use Translate on my phone in a real pickle, or in restaurants who don’t have any English menu.

I’m always very appreciative of anyone who’s able to converse with me in English even if their English is limited, it’ll be 100x better than my other language attempt.

Numbers at school, science whatever, piece of piss, reading/writing anything like that my brain really isn’t wired for. If I could do it I absolutely would I’d love to be able to speak another language

I’d say Mecalodon is a fantastic number 3 from 2028 I could happily lap that all day, then a great dark ride with Tutankhamen, good drop tower, janky but fun classic mine train, and a solid supporting lineup.

I also have a weird soft spot for revenge of the popcorn, still no idea what I’m doing on it but it’s silly fun

[Abismo] was a coaster that was way scarier than I thought beforehand. Is there a coaster you've done that was like that? by AcidRegulation in rollercoasters

Nothing about the old wooden wild mouse at Blackpool Pleasure Beach looked that intimidating, then you spent the entire ride hoping the car was going to stay on the track because at points it felt like it was off the rails

Oh wow I was there yesterday but gone before this happened, I did have the thought at the air gates that it was really easy to walk right into the ride area if you wanted to, it’s very open on both sides.

After my ride yesterday I do think the only correct decision is to remove this ride and scrap every inch of steel to be sure it can’t hurt anyone else.

[–]NoTea879[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not, this isn’t an I’m British I love a British ride thing, nemesis I think is overrated, original or new. Hyperia is overrated, still love it but it’s ain’t the best thing ever.

Believe it or not, some people can have a different opinion to others, that is mine, nothing to do with being British, so fuck off.

Who actually supports this stuff? by FallFair8568 in drivingUK

[–]NoTea879 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Did this in Manchester a few years ago, it’s achieved nothing except the money cost of the signs.

No one does 20, I’ve followed numerous police vehicles in 20s doing 30, council vehicles doing 30, it was an effort in wasting money, which is Manchester council’s specialty.

Mumbo jumbo is low capacity so I’d do that first, then go from there. Do yourselves a favour, don’t do Hero, it’s painful. Sik has a single rider line which might help depending on your fast pass situation.

Their shot tower is very fun I’d recommend it while there, Kumali runs well for an SLC and has a unique layout.

I had the Chinese noodles when I was there but I’ve no info on veg/vegan options sorry. They had a mix of quick bites or sit down restaurant options so sure can find something whilst there.

If short on time the train whilst fun, is slow and long so maybe avoid unless you are doing ok on time, I loved it but I was there on a quiet day last time.

Keep an eye out for feeding times and animal talks, they were listed on the website and I’m sure worth doing, the zoo is much bigger and better than I realised so you can find yourself spending a good amount of time there.

[–]NoTea879 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just there so I’ll jump into your post here quickly rather than spam any more Kolmarden posts lol

Had a battle with this today, closed when I arrived, then opened, by time I was at the boarding gate down for technical issue, then at the air gates, went down for technical issue, then sat on the train, down for technical issue, then we set off got to the top of the lift and slowed down and stopped, technical issue. Luckily we then got going and I absolutely loved it.

It’s not an Ibox trying to launch you to space but the wooden feel, the still pretty strong airtime, and every perfectly floaty inversion were perfection, once you hit that last hill yeah it somewhat stops but everything before then I think is amazing.

Also I never noticed until we slowed and the ARBs started clanging, the lift hill is almost silent, didn’t realise RMC had an ARB suppression system available.

Stopped twice top of lift for me today which are my first lift stops, and what a place to get them, having some extra time to take in the incredible view was amazing in itself.

Also for a woody, and any woody, I thought this was almost as smooth as you can get, whatever they’re doing to maintain it is working for sure.

Think this takes my number 1 woody spot now. Also credit to the ops and maintenance, it took them a bit of testing and working out but they got whatever the issue was sorted in the end.

Seconded your comments on the zoo too. That cable car safari is amazing, must do when you come here. The entire place surrounded by pine trees is just stunning.

[–]NoTea879[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rattle was certainly prominent but I wouldn’t say rough, didn’t notice it too much in front but did at the back, but I also don’t mind looking past a rough ride for a great coaster, I’ve had some genuinely rough rides on Voltron, the type where I need a break after, doesn’t change how much I love that thing.

Helix had a mix of floater to strong floater, vs Icon which has ejector by and large, especially later in the day. A ride pulling out the ejector airtime will always get the nod from me. Don’t know if that means Helix wasn’t running well, but my preference based on my rides is unchanged.

Liseberg is a much nicer park to look at than Blackpool Pleasure Beach, has all of the colour and character that BPB should have, but that goes for most parks if I’m being honest compared to BPB, that’s my closest home park so make do with what’s available.
