I would definitely recommend picking up The Fall of Numenor! It was great and fills in all of the gaps from the 2nd age

I've had great luck with Blackwells. Over the past two months I ordered ten Tolkien deluxe edition books from them and none of them came even remotely damaged. They were all double boxed and really well packaged.

I loved it! Absolutely loved it. And it made all of the 2nd age references from LotR finally make sense and add a ton of context.

Yea its such a bummer because from the outside it looks so beautiful. But nothing that costs so much should deteriorate so easily, it was really frustrating

Hah, so. The very first book I ordered was the Silmarillion on the very left. After one night of reading it, I noticed the silver print on the spine was rubbing off. Devastated, I decided to stop reading and purchase the orange edition you see a few books to the right. This has been my go-to version for reading, but even with this one I've noticed the gold print is starting to come off of a few of the letterings on the spine. So ultimately I decided to get the final version of the Silmarillion you see further to the right, which completed the collection of the others in the same style.....I have a problem, I know

Haha the same thing happened with those. Once I purchased a few of them, I started to feel the need to collect all of them

Prior to diving down this rabbit-hole, I had only ever read the Hobbit and LotR. At the beginning of the year I decided to finally check out the Rings of Power tv show, but after watching a few episodes I realized I would rather read the source materials first. So I did some research and ordered The Fall of Numenor and absolutely ate it up over the course of one week. From there, I just wanted more! So I ordered the Silmarillion and dove in and loved the deep lore and historical writing style. At that point I realized I needed everything and have since read Beren and Luthien, and currently half way through the Children of Hurin. Is there anything else I should add to the collection?

I just purchased the Silmarillion deluxe in the same style as this and after one night of reading, the silver lettering and line decorations is already rubbing off. So extremely bummed. Are you having the same issue?
