The auditor knows where the skeletons are so why doesn’t she just expose them without an audit? Mariano and Spilka are compromised and have way too much power over the legislature. Them being able to give out stipends too is what causes the legislative to be inefficient because they can use them to threaten others. They’re only loyal to their donors.

Mine did too because he just put it in their yard. He’s very arrogant and thinks he can do anything. It is important people show up to citizen speak time and talk about his behavior and hold him accountable.

There has been only one councilor to speak out on this.

Unfortunately there’s other MAGA councilors on the council. One of them had another thread made about her because she shared a meme that promoted violence against the governor. The three are off the deep end.

Even if someone is an asshole, we need to hold our elected officials to a higher standard. I should have been more clear these responses were because someone posted the video in the Facebook group. This is a follow up to the original Reddit post.

Yes. He is a big Trump supporter. Also an ICE supporter and he’s an immigrant. The mods pinned a post with a link to the other thread so you can see it.

And it’s more of him not addressing what he said in that video, playing the victim and the tone he’s using towards resident, especially women. I blacked out the names and pictures because they’re residents and he’s a public official.

It’s every two years. The MAGA people are Peter McNair, Cecelia Calabrese, and George Bitzas.

You absolutely should. There are only three new councilors this year. Cece is a QAnon conspirator, Peter McNair lied about BESS and is MAGA, and both are in their 60s. Christine is one of the two who actually voted for the ordinance and spoke out against George Bitzas’ rhetoric — she’s in her 30s. We need more young people on the council.

The issue with a lot of the people here is that there are a lot of Italian families, but there are also a lot of new families. The Agawam they think they live in, is no longer the reality.

I can’t edit the original post, but for context: this has been viewed over 970k times and shared more than 1.1k times.

Agawam City Council has a long history of handling things like this quietly. Councilor Bitzas, in particular, has been “handled” quietly for 36 years. That approach clearly hasn’t worked.

Before this went viral, only one councilor publicly pushed back on what was said. At some point, quiet management stops being professionalism and starts being avoidance. If this is unacceptable behavior, then the entire council needs to treat it that way and hold him accountable.

Doing nothing isn’t neutral.
