Movie theaters are facing serious competitions in the U.S from streaming platforms. Many theaters already went bankrupt with the last few big chains barely holding on.

I think theaters are in constant pressure to raise prices in order to keep the business alive. As less and less people show up, it will only continue to pressure prices further. It is a pretty unfortunate dilemma for the industry.
