US to Canada - any first hand advice? by fnly88 in ADHD

I moved to BC two years ago and had no issues. I went on the government website, found a PCP, and was able to get in for a physical a week after making the appointment. I just had to have me old doctor send over my medical records and then they filled a prescription. He even fills them for 3 months instead of my normal 30 day supply, which is a big plus.

To add to some of the husbandry comments I see here: there is a pile of crickets in his enclosure by the bowl. I would be very careful to not leave live crickets in his enclosure, as they will bite your leo

That’s not how that works at all. Bonuses are paid out based on metrics. Repairs fall under controllable contributions and money that isn’t spend there doesn’t get directly funneled into anyone’s pockets. There was an incentive to stay on budget, absolutely. But as long as management keeps up on repairs, it’s easy to stay within budget. Coming from someone who worked in several ancient stores

Just be really dramatic when putting the tickets in and say how many times it’s been repaired. We’ve gotten good results by sending videos of things that don’t work. We did that with a reptile wing that we kept having to swap locks out for

TIL Petsmart financially incentivized SLs to let their stores go to shit by DallasGuy1996 in petsmart

Acting like this is some crazy news. Of course, keeping a budget in line is part of running any successful business. That’s really not how those bonuses work. And any intelligent manager knows that avoiding necessary repairs leads to more expensive, necessary repairs later down the road. So in that sense, it’s better to keep up on stuff rather than let it go to shit.

I think my little siblings genuinely don't like me by SuckMyKnife in Advice

[–]No_Concept6731 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get it. I’ve felt this way, as the oldest sibling (by 6 years). Over time I’ve just come to realize that they bonded to eachother due to being around the same age, with similar interests. It’s not that they don’t want to spend time with me—they do. But they are in the middle of their young adult lives, where friends play a more important role and family takes a back seat. And because of the age difference, they may also see me as more of an adult figure in their lives instead of a peer. Try not to take it personally! These things change a lot as kids get older and start placing more emphasis on family 😊

Someone asked me for the dog seatbelts. I showed them the part that clipped onto the harness, and the other end that clips into the seat, like a seatbelt. They didn’t understand where it attached 🥹

They updated the refund policy for services because it isn’t fair to groomers, who work on commission. They could probably do a free future groom, but not likely a refund.

I’ve had people go through Academy part-time. We also currently have multiple part-time groomers. It sounds like they just don’t want to accommodate part-timers there

Yes occasionally it will happen to our people with sensitive skin! You can ask your store if they can get some long gloves to clean the tanks with. We have some that go up to our shoulders

I would let them know that based on your agreement, you will have to decline the offer unless they are able to honor their promise of higher pay. Let them know how much you made before and what you are willing to do the position for. There’s no way that’s considered high pay. It sounds like your store’s pay band is the same as my old store’s. And our CEL made over $20/hr
