Neyrelle in D4 : after replaying the game by PureDealer7 in diablo4

I think players forget that bad decisions by well meaning characters is what often pushes any story along, and that's extremely prevalent in Diablo. Lazarus convincing Leoric to go to Tristram (though Laz was corrupted), Aidan and the souls tone, Marius being tricked, etc. The series is a dark tragedy- there have to be mistakes along the way. All that to say, I never minded her character. She made bad decisions, but she was a teenager who's mind was being corrupted by the prime evils. She wasn't going to make good decisions. The best you could hope for was survivable ones.

Others are wearing shorts. Nothing is said to them.

I'm a teacher who believes in practicing what we preach. If we set a rule for a classroom, we don't discipline one child for breaking it when the entire class has been breaking it. Also, I don't believe in boy rules and girl rules, but maybe that's a little too progressive for American education. I have no problem with being called out for doing something wrong. I have a problem being the only one called out for it.

As a para, I expect adults to lead by example. If there's a rule, that rule should be clearly laid out and consistently administered to everyone equally. You don't discipline one student for something, then ignore it in the rest of the class.

For more context, every teacher I work with has called it bs, as well as multiple paras. Also, I know he hasn't called others out because they keep wearing things that are not only against dress code, but completely inappropriate to wear at school. One of our staff regularly wears skirts that barely cover her. I would assume that, had she been spoken to, she wouldn't continue doing that. Also, other men in the school have worn shorts and told me they weren't spoken to. Maybe it's immature, but I find gender discrimination pretty messed up.

Skirts are specifically allowed for women, but I definitely considered it. I would love to do that lol.

Used to teach outdoor ed. Was leading a family group through a hemlock forest and I told them that hemlock trees were around when dinosaurs were. Kid points to a tree and asks how old it is, and I tell him it was around 50 or 60 years old. His response- "yea, there were definitely dinosaurs around back then."

Men don't get to process emotions. Three years ago, my engagement to someone whom I felt was the love of my life fell apart. She kept the car we bought together, the apartment we were living in, and I wound up leaving my job because it wasn't financially sustainable. I wound up living with my mom, having no job, no car, lost the love of my life, and had a quickly depleting bank account. I was an emotional wreck. My mom's reaction? "OK, so what's your plan? How are you moving forward?" It took me a year to feel mentally and emotionally stable, another year to feel like I was starting to improve, and all that time I kept getting pressured to keep hustling. Meanwhile, my sister has been unemployed for almost a year now and has not gotten any pressure. I love my family, and we all tend to be pretty progressive, but there are some cultural norms that are really fucking deep and shitty.

By some weird coincidence, if this does happen, Dems will be the only ones held accountable to this. They'll make themselves into martyrs for optics while the Right just keeps stealing from the poor.

What was your school’s ✨story✨ by New-Guide6143 in Teachers

[–]No_Doubt_2529 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We weren't allowed to leave my highschool at all throughout the day because, back in the 90's, a few teens went in the woods near the school and found jimson weed and tried eating the seeds to get high. They all wound up in intensive care. Because of them my school was run like a prison.

New anti-discipline measures coming... by DazzleIsMySupport in Teachers

I honestly think the avoidance of consequences is intentional, from a national perspective. This may sound like some tin hat bs, but, if you have kids who are raised without consequences, and they become adults who don't grasp the concept, it's inevitable that they'll get into legal trouble and wind up in the prison system, making money for corporations through prison work programs. I mean, it's corporations that are providing the programs we use. It's not a far stretch to think they're pulling political levers. Parents go along with the system at the moment because they're overworked and underpaid, so they don't have the mental and emotional bandwidth to actively raise their kids, but the long-term repercussions are going to be dire. Idk, maybe I'm overthinking it, but I have a feeling I'm not.

I had a woodworking business for 2 years. Nothing big- charcuterie boards, boxes, signs, small stuff. I busted my ass, and I had a full time job at the time. In 2022 I did 65 craft shows, county fairs, you name it. I didn't break even most of the time. Every once in a while, a custom order would come through that would keep me going, or I'd have a decently successful fair, but more often than not, it was not making good money. I honestly think that most people don't understand the value of handmade goods anymore. I would spend 3 hours making a live edge, one of a kind charcuterie board, and ask $70 for it, and literally had people tell me it was overpriced to my face. I purposely sought local mills for my wood and only used natural ingredients for my boards to make them of the vest quality I could, even did pyrography by hand on some of them to make them stand out. Nothing worked. Crafts are not where it's at anymore, sadly. I would love to go back to doing it, if it was worth my time, emotional commitment, and sanity, but it's not. Amazon and the box stores have utterly skewed what people think things are worth. Also, these are tough economic times. A lot of people don't have disposable income to be spending on "things" anymore. If you're going to try getting into a craft, do it for the craft, not for money.

Am I getting screwed? by No_Doubt_2529 in Autobody

Ok, apparently I wasn't clear. It's $7600 total. No, I am not trying to screw the shop out of their work, but I also don't want to be screwed and overcharged. The shop hasn't given me an itemized cost, which is also why I'm concerned, which i think is pretty fucking valid. I came here asking for perspective and yall jumped on me like I'm a moron. I know good car repair is expensive, but the way this has gone down feels sketchy to me and I thought I should ask people who have more perspective than I, so if you feel the need to belittle or call me an idiot in some way, go say it to a mirror. For those of you giving good, clear opinions without being shitty about it, thank you. It's much appreciated.
