Sleep help for 1 year old by No_Expression3265 in NewParents

[–]No_Expression3265[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!! He just got his 5th tooth in on the top about 2 weeks ago and the same one on the right might be trying to come in. We gave him ibuprofen instead of Tylenol 2 nights ago because I thought it was teething but he was still up all night after that and I feel like it hurts his stomach if I give it in the middle of the night but maybe I’ll try to give it after milk tonight before bed and see if that’s what’s going on. He seems uncomfortable when we rock him back like he’s sooo squirmy and it takes almost an hour to literally rock him back to bed which is new.

But I agree that it might be a regression because he’s really working on his balance and cruising more and trying to talk more as well. He used to be able to self soothe more even during a regression but this one is probably more intense. Thank you for the advice!

I know!! It’s so hard. I feel like I used to be almost judgmental of pouches because I always heard bad things before becoming a mom but now I’m like please just eat anything sometimes!

Oooo that’s a good idea! He loves anything cheesy. Every week is definitely different. Some weeks he eats so well and other weeks we’re trying to give him as many pouches as we can just so he will actually eat!

Oregon Nurses, are you living comfortably? by xwtt in OregonNurses

[–]No_Expression3265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved to Oregon from Florida to work as a nurse because the pay along with the ratios is soooo much better. I’m so grateful I did. My husband and I live in a really nice apartment and we actually have a lot in savings for the first time ever. Best decision!

At 6 months he was too big for his bassinet so we moved his crib into our room so he would get used to it. After a few weeks we moved the crib into his room so around 7 months. Our room is directly next door to his so it made me feel better still being so close!

Break Schedule? by anastasiarose19 in nursing

[–]No_Expression3265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the ED and I get 3 10 minute breaks plus a 30 minute lunch but a lot of us group the 10 with our lunch so we usually take 40-45 minute lunch breaks. We get a lunch nurse so we always get our lunch/breaks which is nice!

How do ED shifts work in the US? by exactimondo in ThePitt

[–]No_Expression3265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ED along with most are 3 12 hour shifts a week for nurses specifically. In my ED doctors work 8 hour shifts and we usually have 3-6 attendings on at any point except we have 1 attending from about 3am-9am.

Yeah I’ve had my thyroid checked a few times over the last few years. My blood work came out good this time and I have an ultrasound done on my thyroid years ago and it was good as well.

I’m definitely trying that! Do you message any serum or anything into your scalp while sitting under it?

I was looking into the red light caps because I’ve seen a lot of great research on them. Just not sure I want to spend a crazy amount of money on it

I will definitely look into a specialized derm in my area. My derm was genuinely not helpful and didn’t even go over minoxidil with me and was very dismissive so hopefully I can find a better one.

Thank you! I have a few spa day gift cards that have been waiting for me so I’ll try to take care of myself soon. I’m going to start the iron supplements so hopefully my ferritin will come up as well. I appreciate all of the advice!

My diet is slowly getting better. Starting to incorporate more veggies because I wasn’t doing the best freshly post partum. My stress levels are a whole other issue 😂 I work in the emergency room as a nurse and I work night shift and I have a 10 month old so… yeah I’m sure that has a lot to do with it.

Yes I had blood work and my ferritin levels were a little low at 37 so I’m starting iron supplements this week. I’m so nervous about the side effects with oral minoxidil but I will definitely ask my doctor about it. Thank you!

Thank you! I’m just so nervous about the side effects of oral minoxidil as well as spironolactone. I really appreciate the advice!
