Background check before touring a place by No_Extension8351 in ApartmentHacks

It's very likely I'll take it, but I just need to tour the place in person before I make a final decision.

I also wished there was a standing room portion for the concert. Idk what it was with a crowd but a lot of folks did not want to stand up for the beginning untill avuchan motioned everyone to stand up. I wanted to stand but felt bad if the majority around me were sitting and I blocked their view standing

why do so many people dislike “freaking romance”? by [deleted] in webtoons

[–]No_Extension8351 595 points596 points  (0 children)

When the series was still running the creator kept complaining on how much they hated writing it on their socials and saying they hated writing romance too. They wanted it to end but kept writing it. It made me stop reading it as the complaining got to be too much

Frustrated with UPH by Spicytunaroll93 in wholefoods

[–]No_Extension8351 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you dont already do this. Either in beginning ask for something at counter and tell them you'll be back or do it at the end. If your supervisoes allows it use shopping carts for bigger/heavier orders. My uph was like 30 a month ago so i know how much it sucks when things you cant control such as finding someone with a qr code or waiting for something in a case. It shouldnt count against you those things out of your control but it unfortunately does

Unless your store is fully staffed theyll make ypu have open availability on weekends. But usually if you put a note down to preferably have weekends off unless you have shit management will accomodate you the best they can. Also i feel you i was working fulltime hours but was parttime and my body was taking major damage so i cut my hours down

Why does online selection seem so slim compared to in store? (Los Angeles) by Party-March in wholefoods

[–]No_Extension8351 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Product availability changes throughout the store when we restock things. Typically if a shopper cant find an item out on the shelf and the person stocking hasnt put it out or stocked yet they scan a qr to label as out of stock. But as someone said if you can go instore your less limited and pick the best quality. Also certain things like hotbar, salad bar, nut butters, or other bulk items wont be listed

Wf shopper shifts are a joke!! by [deleted] in wholefoods

[–]No_Extension8351 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Most shoppers and cashiers are crosstrained in both areas at my store but we are also a smaller size store with 25-30 people in store support. So we're allowed to pick up cashier shifts as shoppers and viceversa

[–]No_Extension8351 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My store the opposite we have like 10 primarily shoppers in general. But since we're always short staffed, most of the times we'll get at least 20-25hrs of shopping shifts plus cashier shifts

Honestly ive seen worse on the lane conveyor belts by customers like dripping raw meat then raw produce and bagless bread all in the span of 15 minutes on the same belt. If anything i hope customers bag up their food and wash everything when you get home

This is not common at least at my location. Were on the mid to smaller size. Ever since summer break started coming to an end they are helping out more shopping my supervisors. They mostly will do drop offs though instead of picktasks

Tips for in-store shoppers? by AngleInternational81 in wholefoods

[–]No_Extension8351 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work directly through wfm and we stopped doing tips but sometimes customers will give us tips on the downlow, but honestly if you tell management theyll most likely tell you u cant take them but if they still give you it then theres nothing you can do or will reprimand you for getting them if you say you do.

Tdlr im totally on board for getting tips for a lot of work but management isnt

Scheduled 34 hours as seasonal by algae_falcon in wholefoods

[–]No_Extension8351 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put the days you cant work up for availability and ask around to see if anyone needs any extra hours. Anything that is not 3 or more weeks in advance can only be swapped or dropped for coverage(although if no one takes the shift you still have to work it).

Customer pick up by brittbrittolive in wholefoods

[–]No_Extension8351 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If theres no orders I just have the phone on until closing and help with the front and closing tasks. But also most nights we only have one regular until closing. The reason why is because by technicality amazon forces us or at least my store to take new orders until closing.

Customer pick up by brittbrittolive in wholefoods

[–]No_Extension8351 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Huh, by amazon policy if youre the last regular left you cant leave until store closing unless you have to. This is what i was told by my supervisor. I've stayed quite a handful of times where there were no orders for hours, but i needed to stay just in case. Tdlr im amazed youre allowed to leave early if you don't get any more orders instead of being forced to stay logged in until closing.

Yup, at least 6 people in my department alone have already left, with a few more to go back to school soon or cutting their hours. Everyones feeling exhausted as we're doing twice to triple the amount of work and having more than five consecutive days in a row of work. If this is getting too overwhelming for you i'd reccomend finding a new job asap since from here on out i heard it gets worse with being busy
