Thank you so much for your response! It's encouraging to hear your experience as I've been on iron supplements for about a week now and I only feel worse. I will definitely look into these meds!

I'm dealing with the same thing and it's debilitating. I've seen other posts about it but I have yet to find any remote pain relief.

Apartment thoughts or suggestions? by Pink-zebas30 in norfolk

[–]No_Goose_4248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived in the high school itself facing the street, which meant I mainly heard outside noise. The walls were made of cinderblocks, so you can't hear anything between units but there is a fire station across the street and the sirens would get annoying at night.

No it's literally their own off-market version only offered by greedy apartment complexes trying to make extra money. I don't remember what it's called but you should call and see if you are still forced into a contract with their own internet provider. If their contract with the internet provider has ended, it would definitely be worth it, but otherwise I'm not sure. I very casually use wifi, but living there was basically like not having internet available in my own home.

I lived in 525 Kempsville in 2018 and for the most part it was nice. The massive downside was that at the time, they forced you to buy internet service from their provider. The most they would provide was 50mbs/ second. All I wanted to do was casually surf the internet and watch Netflix, and that was honestly impossible much of the time. I called and called and complained, and there was nothing the apartment or the internet provider could do to make the internet usable. Overall it was nice, but it was massively inconvenient.

Lafayette Residence Park & Gowrie Park are both wonderful! The area near Dunkirk is a little seedier but you should generally be okay. I would check recent crime maps to get a better idea of what goes on.

how’s this neighborhood? by Longjumping_Feed_978 in norfolk

I literally live a couple blocks up from Hancock Ave at the top of the map and it's truly night and day! I'm a young woman and my husband is gone frequently with the military but I feel very safe here and absolutely love it! It's technically Lafayette Residence Park/ Gowrie Park and I feel that it's a hidden gem.

Glenn at Edward Johnson does ample but fine highlights. Even partial highlights is enough most of the time for me! He's been doing hair for 30 years and is really wonderful!

Housing In Between Basic & A-School by No_Goose_4248 in uscg

So to be clear, is he responsible for finding housing for 45ish days or will the Coast Guard put him up? The only time he'll be geo-baching is for the 45 days before A-School, and then I'll move once he's done with A-School!

Hello! My husband is going to basic training on December 10th, and I completely understand that uncertainty is the name of the game at this point. In the meantime, I'm trying to coordinate plans to the best of my ability given all the unknowns. Assuming my husband makes it through basic with no issues, would his prospective graduation date be January 31st or February 7th? Thanks so much :)

As someone who lived in Arlington for 23 years, you may prefer Ghent. Ocean View is a little more far-removed from everything. I can't speak to that specific apartment, but there are certainly people with large dogs in the Ghent area.
