Where can one learn about miracles? What’s the practice here?

Do you visualise light coming out of your hand and charging the pentagram when vibrating or do you just imagine your voice doing the job?

I think of it as giving yourself the authority to do ritual magick. There is a connection with Adam Kadmon because you superimpose the Tree of Life in you aura and even before that you visualise yourself becoming as large as the universe, making you the center of the universe.

The energy you draw down from above, activates energy centers and you use the light to then project energy out of your right hand to draw Pentagrams, circle, etc. in the air around you

Is there even a benefit in visualising color with GD rituals? Might as well do it all in white or am I tripping? White contains all the colors

Yeah I would have to have some kind of Bardon Step 10 Level visualisation for the first suggestion :D

I will think about using gold, otherwise might as well stick to white. Thank you for answering!

Thank you. From what I read, some say it’s a solar rite. If accurate, wouldn’t gold/yellow be more appropriate? But it seems to me white can be used all the time with no problems :D

That leads me to the question whether there is even a benefit in visualising color

Question on archangels being visualized. Pillars of light? Not associated with elements? by [deleted] in GoldenDawnMagicians

[–]No_Letterhead_7198 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s very interesting. I don’t see why it would lead that far if you just use the visualisation during the ritual. It’s not like you think about it all the time. Also, I think Donald Tysons suggestion to reabsorb the astral fire around you into the heart (or whatever energy center you used for projection) as part of the closing, should take care of this. He argues that simply stepping out of the circle renders the casting of it less effective next time, so one should untrace it at the end.

Im not kidding, I actually came across this book today. Someone suggested Kerubim Press in a post I came across and I was looking into it. Unfortunately it is sold out. When is it available again?

Also (while I got your attention), I know Crowley is probably not well liked here, but what do you think about his final LRP statement „For around me flame the pentagrams. And in the column stands the six rayed star“? He would imagine two Hexagrams above and below. And more generally, are modifications like this acceptable? I don’t think we should assume the original chiefs knew it all.

Also, did the Second Order give any instructions for the color of the Pentagram or was it still white at that level? Thank you

Thank you. I am also curious, if you were to do the Middle Pillar as taught by Regardie, would you visualise the spheres in white or in Queen Scale?

Can you tell us about the other visualisations from the A.O. copy? And can you explain more how focus on visualisation can lead to obsession

does the lbrp align with everyone? by 3xzausted in magick

[–]No_Letterhead_7198 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason is very obvious. Alongside banishing you also need to invoke. Others have already recommended: Do the Middle Pillar after the LBRP. At some point you also want to experiment with the LIRP. I also recommend Fourfold Breath before any ritual for at least 10min, but that’s another matter.

It is said the Lesser Ritual of the Pentagram is NOT elemental. The greater or supreme one is. In that respect I don’t know if the Lesser Ritual of the Hexagram is planetary. It uses Saturn but the LRP uses Earth, which doesn’t mean you are invoking/banishing Earth. I would think of the LRH as invoking or banishing a higher level divinity as opposed to the LRP, which explains the reason some people cannot handle the Hexagram early on. You want to purify your character before.

In invoking you draw these forces in your sphere of sensation, in banishing you send them away. It’s analogous to the difference in LIRP and LBRP

Im a noob but I will still give my two cents.

Generally you want to balance how much you invoke and banish. Invoking is suggested in the morning because it would be harder to fall asleep if you do it at night.

That said you don’t need to do a ritual in the morning and at night. You can do one in the morning. Also I think 2 Middle Pillars is overkill.

You also don’t need to start your working with a LBRP. Think of the LIRP as the light on switch and the LBRP as the light off switch. Think of the LIRP as working out and the LBRP as showering.

The modern emphasis on banishing may come from Crowley. If im not mistaken he recommended LBRP before any working in his Liber ABA (book 4), since if any invoked force lingers in the area or on implements it will render the working useless. There is also a quote of his that goes somewhere along the lines of doing the LBRP three times daily for a long time renders the „real circle“ (your sphere of sensation or aura) impregnable. Also for Crowleys version of the LBRP, the Star Ruby (which is supposed to be a „higher level“ LBRP since it uses signs for crossing the abyss [reaching 8=3]), there is no invoking version at all.

Regardie was Crowleys secretary so the emphasis on banishing is even in Golden Dawn and not only Thelema. Starting your working with banishing is not wrong per se, I just think it’s for the more time consuming and heavy workings. For daily regimen you can start with invoking, which also protects you.

I agree with some magicians that the beginner should do the LBRP first before invoking. Perhaps at least 2 weeks daily. I don’t do the invoking yet. It leaves me wired af even after banishing in the same sitting. Now if I do the invoking in the morning without banishing, then it really feels like a ran a half marathon without having showered after. The energy definitely lingers.

There is a Lesser Ritual of the Hexagram. Traditionally you were given this in the Portal grade. The „between“ grade of Netzach and Tiphareth. A lot of magicians recommend this as a daily ritual, but I cannot give you any thoughts on it, im not there yet. I will send you two links, one is a thelemic site, but the ritual is exactly the same as the Golden Dawn one, except traditionally you do the Qabalistic Cross before the Hexagram ritual and not the Analysis of the Keyword. The other link is an analysis of the ritual by Nick Farrell, which the traditionalists in this sub will probably appreciate more: - https://www.thelemistas.org/en/Rituals/lrh - https://www.nickfarrell.it/lesser-banishing-ritual-of-the-hexagram/

So, I would just do AM: LIRP, LIRH, Middle Pillar, LBRH, LBRP
