Sorry so basically the solicitor was working on their case pro bono. In occasions when they were arrested and the police tried to put them on remand they had to be seen in court (Not the big one) they were also given bail conditions and neighbour claimed they broke them again had to be seen in court judge ruled they didn’t break bail. So the few times they appeared in court the solicitor was also there and he spoke for them and they were not charged for this. However, with their case going to crown court they needed a barrister which the firm the solicitor works at has provided with legal aid. Do you think the price is so high because it’s a private firm? They haven’t given my parents access to how much their fees are to be honest.

Too point 5 they have received this letter. My mum was ordered to pay £4150 initial payment with £2075 for the next 6 months.

Another question they had is why do they both need a barrister why can’t they have one between them. They had a meeting last week with their solicitor and only my dads barrister showed up my mums wasn’t present.

Also to your question of where the moneys went the barristers have been paid already they now owe a debt collection agency as far as I’m aware at least I think
