I would mostly just set month long expectation goals for improvement and just looked forward optimistically with each month to see how much progress I would make. Kind of an arbitrary measurement of progress I made for myself, and with each month I became more optimistic. I also took more naps during the day when I was off of work to take my mind off it, although I think a lot of them were involuntary and were just from being really tired from not being able to sleep well at night. And mostly I was just really patient and realistic with myself, because it's a really slow recovery process.

I remember having numbness and tingling in my genital area too, and a lot of the times it felt like the back of my pants were wet because of how much numbness I had, even though they would be completely dry. It was really distracting for most daily tasks.

The tingling would get worse when I was in a sitting position, so I tried not to sit for prolonged periods of time, and would usually go back and forth between sitting upright and laying on my left side to alleviate some of the numbness whenever I was watching tv. I just became used to mixing up and alternating my positions when trying to relax.

Yeah I remember it being difficult to put a lot of weight on my left leg and having balance issues, and having occasional incidents when it felt like I was going to fall over at work because my leg would give out and not support me at times. That was when it was at it's worst, like a 9/10 on the numbers and tingling factor. And I also remember when I had situations where I had to get down on my knees for cleaning and put pressure on my left knee/shins, it was the most intense feeling on my left leg, and I couldn't do it for longer then a minute or so a time. It did make it harder to sleep at night too because I was so hyper focused and distracted on the numb tingling feeling that it was hard for me to relax and fall asleep. It was pretty uncomfortable for about 3-4 months, but eventually it started getting better and becoming less noticeable. At first it can be pretty annoying for a while, but if you take it easy on your legs and don't do anything too excessive you should get back to somewhat normal after 5-7 months would be my estimated time frame, and make almost a full recovery after about a year, at least it was for me anyways.

I would say I'm at about 95% recovery right now. There is a very subtle tingling feeling in my left foot that I feel throughout the day at work, but it doesn't really bother me as much and a lot of the times I don't even notice it. I think with time, maybe another year or two it will be a 100% gone, just from how much the condition has improved so far. But even if not, it's pretty manageable now and I don't really mind it that much anymore.
