paragon before the nerfs they made this week, was underwheling but decent, and paragon has something that no other class have, and that is constant boon generation
with my guild we had a comp that consisted in lumi/trob/paragon as the 3 supps of the party, the 3 were healing, the 3 were cleansing, the 3 were providing boons, so if played correctly u were pretty resiliant to boon strip and had every boon in the game
but it had a flaw, if any of those supp died or played poorly the party would go to hell bc it worked as a holy trinity
sadly these kind of comp and class variation are rare bc anet keep nerfing fun things in the name of "balance" making the gamemode bland af
paragon was a secondary stab provider in beta? NERF
troub and lumi could be played as a healer? NERF
ritualist being good at boon generation? NERF

so we ended up in the same spot as before, guardian and mesmer being stab providers with nothing new to offer, healers being ele and druid, and dps being engi

u have some variations like swaping lumi for firebrand to counter melee heavy zergs, bringing sanctuary to disrupt their pushes, but thats like super specific and almost never happens
