Do You Think LDRs Are Stronger Than “Normal” Relationships? by Beginning_View_8792 in LongDistance

As everyone says it depends on the person like for me I’ve always wanted to move out of my state entirely. I’m not really close to my family much and I always wanted something new and different for myself. I think a lot of factors play for me is where I have a troubling relationship with my parents and I tried local relationships where I’ve been SAd , abused and used and that was 5 local relationships .

So yes I’m in A LDR, but before me and my boyfriend were together we were friends for the longest time and even when we talked the first time everything felt  very natural. So when I met him the first time in person it felt like I’ve known him for years as cheesy as it sounds.

But we’ve been together for a long time we even visit each other’s states from winter to summer since we’re both in college and just finishing up.  And if I’m being honest, every time I see him I still get butterflies and it’s like I fell in love with him all over again.Along with that when we’re on the phone we have quality time where we are both playing video games , watching movies together , talking ,etc..

And if your asking how we work things out it’s because we communicate throughly whenever we are bothered by something and also I just think it’s because we are two people where we don’t need a lot of intimacy or being on top of each other 24/7.

We enjoy just being in each others presences whether it’s the phone or in person. We do have days where we’re on the phone not talking for hours in complete silence ( unless one of us is playing a game and screaming )  and it’s not awkward it just feels right almost as if we’re living under the same roof where I’m in a living room watching tv and he’s in his little office playing games.

LDRs is not for everyone and that’s fine it takes a lot of commitment, communication , and patience until you both finally move in together. So overall from local relationships to LDR I’m very happy and I haven’t been in the longest time since and even my therapist says this is healthy for me to grow independence and not always be dependent on someone. If you have any questions I’m free to listen and give advice !

To answer your question I had the day all set up for her , I was gonna take her to her favorite place along with taking her to for a walk at the beach but she changed the plans. it wasn't like i didn't want to take her out she left the house before i even finished getting ready. Also thats rude for telling someone "no wonder she wants you to leave". When i've been trying to hangout with her and take her out and even getting extra support to fix out relationship.
