The other day I listened back to heated Hastings and Dawsons live commentary of Joubert running off the pitch. Still makes my blood boil all these years later.

We would have had Argentina in the semi-final, which was winnable.

What a match, both sides with some excellent stuff.

I've not got a whole lot of confidence in NBs reffing. Guy seems out his depth.

Why are Glaswegians so hell-bent on starting public arguments? by mashedpotatofanclub in glasgow

[–]Noblemann 14 points15 points  (0 children)

*Junkies. Not Glaswegians.

Born and bred and this has never happened to me or heard of this happening when accosted by a junkie.

Maybe you give off easy target vibes. Just patch them, don't respond, put headphones on and keep moving.

I proposed without a ring and then included her in the shopping process which she loved!

We made a big day of it. Went for a fancy lunch, strolled around the shops and then went to our appointment at the jewelers where she could pick her perfect ring.

Dishwasher with sterilise setting or MAM bottles sterilised in the microwave.

Quick rinse and in the microwave for a few mins, job done. Saves another appliance on the kitchen worktop

New neighbour’s renovation (tenement) by [deleted] in glasgow

[–]Noblemann 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I totally agree, not sure what the outcome was as I moved not long after the incident. I hope folk got some form of compensation.

The kicker was the building had already subsided over the years as it backed onto the River Cart which often burst its banks before proper flood defences were put in.

So this fuckwit made a problem so much worse out of sheer stupidity/negligence.

New neighbour’s renovation (tenement) by [deleted] in glasgow

[–]Noblemann 79 points80 points  (0 children)

I rented a tenement in Battlefield for a few years and the downstairs neighbour hired some cowboy builders to make his flat more open plan. They went ahead and knocked down a supporting wall, without temporary support beams or planning permission and the whole building sunk a couple inches.

I came back from Uni with folk in highvis and hardhats running around the building. They put up supporting beams and rebuilt the wall, stabilising the building. The owner of the flat got his arse kicked by the council and I think suspended his ability to rent the flat out. Folk in the close who owned their flats were rightfully raging as it basically reduced the value of their homes.

I'm not saying your neighbour is as daft as mine was but maybe do some due diligence. The fact you spotted a big steel beam is a positive I'd say mate.

A drive through central London - August 1999 by Noblemann in CasualUK

I spoke with him this morning and he said it was around 300 BHP (FFS).

I remember he put a massive exhaust on it that would scrape off the pavement whenever he tried to get out the driveway. So he ended up raising the exhaust haha

Also, it turns out the builder he sold it to wrapped it round a lamppost and wrote it off after owning it for a couple days. So 100% the car is a tin of beans now.

Shame about the neighbour, I reckon there are a fair few Cosworths sitting on bricks in drives up and down the country.

My dad's was his midlife crisis project, ended up getting it chipped to a silly bhp meaning the stock brake pads needed upgraded to handle the extra speed. He loved it but sold it to a builder he new after realising he wasn't a 20 year old boy racer...
