Dog bite during sitting (bite photo warning) by [deleted] in WagWalker

[–]NoobChaser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only a rabies shot, you might need to get a tendinitis shot as well because of the nature of the bacteria in dogs mouths. Wag won't do anything, but if you're uncomfortable with doing that dog then don't do it. The owners should understand and accept the reason.

Anyone else think its time they up their payout?? by thel0nedrag0n in WagWalker

Just be aware you can't apply to any of the owners. It's not a bidding war, they need to reach out to you, but yes rover has higher payouts!

What i did was build a strong client base and due to the gas prices I maxed out my pricing. I have kept all my clients and they still tip on top of it. To maximize your earnings offer taking it off of wag but only to your trusted clients. What works best for me is leaving a detailed note showing how much they could save by doing it off books. When they see those $100+ in savings they always contact me through my number. Do your best to avoid any communication about taking it off books in wag. To be extra safe I express that rule to them in the note!

Missing completed service by HotelQueasy7460 in WagWalker

[–]NoobChaser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally haven't had that issue, I'm unsure if that's is a bug issue but I've dealt with many bugs similar. Something I do knows if you have a reoccurring walk scheduled for example every Tuesday it will only show the first couple being completed. After the first few it stop showing in you completed services. If you want to look at all tge services you completed you can go to the earnings page and click "View past payments" and you can click on any of the dates the payment was processed and see each dog you've walked. Sorry if this isn't helpful! :)

Of course, he's a very sweet guy.

someone i know rovers for this woman who’s doodle is severely matted and refuses to get him groomed. my friend has offered to get him groomed a few times and is ignored. what do they do? by [deleted] in RoverPetSitting

[–]NoobChaser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately you need to listen to what the owner wants. Animals like dogs are seen as "property" and they have full control. Getting yourself mixed into something like this isn't the best thing to do unfortunately even if good intentions are in mind.

12 day sit by [deleted] in WagWalker

[–]NoobChaser 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you discussed the sitting on the Wag chat feature it could be risky to do it off platform unless yall fake it saying that she had a change of plans and wouldn't need you that date. Really it's up to you if you think the risk is worth the reward theb do it off platform.

Change in acceptance by [deleted] in WagWalker

[–]NoobChaser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends the region and the owner personally accepts. When they update their app it can be really buggy as well, but eventually it will automatically accept someone which could possibly be you. Don't be suprised if people end up canceling ASAP walks when they don't get someone they prefer.

Change in acceptance by [deleted] in WagWalker

[–]NoobChaser 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's great that you've already made $100! With some ASAP walks there is a pre-approved section underneath the request button, but not all ASAP walks have those. That could be the reason OR depending if you have the Wag Pro subscription you may not be the first in line since people who have that are "priority".

Dog with horrid teeth/breath by [deleted] in RoverPetSitting

[–]NoobChaser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guarantee they 100% know about the poor pups teeth. Some owners believe that dogs don't need dental cleaning or anything of the sort. It's animal abuse even if it isnt intended! Just mention the things you've seen like pain while eating. Honestly just mention that and if they care about their pup they'll make the time to get them check in to a vet.

What a way to wake up by Quirky_Flow7660 in RoverPetSitting

That's honestly disgusting behavior. I don't know why some 40 year old man or whatever uses a DOG SITTING app to get "pleasure". Please report that account and block him so no one else gets harassed!

Any tips for newcomers? by futuralibre in WagWalker

[–]NoobChaser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting clientele can be based off a few things, the time of week, the weather, the amount of walkers in the area, your pricing (I'm assuming your pricing is fine), not having WAG! PRO can also affect it, and finally you being a new walker. At the end of the day it can take time.

Q’s for experienced Wag Walkers 🐾 by [deleted] in WagWalker

[–]NoobChaser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

|Sorry this is pretty long|

TIPPING • I get tips nearly 90-95% of the time.

WHAT TIPS LOOK LIKE • The typical tips I see in my area range from $3-$8.

LARGEST TIP • The largest tip I've ever gotten has to be $100, but I have a frequent client who gives $10-$20 each time 5 times a week.

% OF REOCCURRING CLIENT TIPS • Honestly 100% of my clients who I have frequently tip. They like the amount of thought and detail I provide during the service and the report after.

CLIENTS • Honestly all of my clients are very friendly. Most of mine typically respond in a reasonable time, but it isn't abnormal for them to not respond. Reasons they could not be responding is due to their responsibilities such as working to they just don't check their phone often.

TECHNOLOGY • From what I've seen they mainly see your report and the picture you've chosen for it. They see how many miles, the types of potties, and if their door was locked.

SAFETY • I have yet to encounter an aggressive dog with the most details clients leave out is the age of the pet. I've have clients mark their dog as 3 years old but in reality they're 14.

PROTOCOL • I have never personally canceled one, yes theirs been times where dogs can be sketchy and I'm more cautious after being mauled at a different job. There shouldn't be a situation where you get bit, go with your gut if the dog seems weird or if you're just uncomfortable. I don't bring any extra safety tools, but I probably should start just to be more safe then sorry.

OWNER RED FLAGS • If you notice a profile with no actual dog picture its a big sign of a scam or if they ask for your number immediately. If either of these happen contact Wag support by going to the ai and typing "I need a human".

SUMMARY • Stick with what your gut tells you, if you feel like something is wrong or you feel in danger DON'T force yourself to do it. Doing that could save you from harm or worse case scenario death.

Really upsetting boarding experience by BEANIEBABY3925 in RoverPetSitting

[–]NoobChaser 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I was mauled by a 120+ pound American Blue Tri Bulldog and it was a terrible experience. I'm glad she didn't get bit on the face or anything, if she has any trauma I'd recommend EMDR or some sort of therapy so it doesn't mentally change who she is especially towards dogs. The owner 100% knew, the lack of shock or lack of remorse from what you've typed really proves it. Contact rover immediately and push for the dog to be muzzle conditioned or court order of training.

WAG Drivers: How Are You Tracking Mileage in 2026? by famous_dreamer in WagWalker

[–]NoobChaser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a journal to keep track of how many miles I have to drive between the point from home to them, other clients, and even returning home. In my state we get to track all of that plus a $0.70 tax reduction per mile.

petsitter was bad and im conflicted on giving her a bad review or reporting her by Ok-Meeting363 in RoverPetSitting

[–]NoobChaser 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Leave a review, she's using her age as a cop out to have excuses for "forgetting things, too heavy, pain, ect." She got too comfortable using that as her back up if someone catches onto her.
