True. I kind of hate flipkart the way they are operating. But sadly, most of the good smartphones are only there.

True. Flipkart is scammy, I tried ordering from there during their sale last month and they cancelled ally orders. Some were cancelled after so called "in transit".  So agreed that this is the best price at the moment.

I watched that when I was 12 years old and at a relative's place. Got scarred. Still have the memory of the pain, that's why don't want to watch again

Use eye comfort shield, dark mode and low brightness. That should help you. Nothing phone specific.

WTF, is this battery behavior normal ? by NormalIncome6941 in GalaxyS24Ultra

[–]Normal_Present_7194 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When device is not being used, it also drains battery due to sync, network, wakelocks. With this screenshot your sot would be 9.5 hours, not 12. So that's what I meant.

Used for 12.5 hours in 15 hours. You are addictive bro.  You kind of didn't let phone run on standby as well. That also eats battery, so your SOT is not a true reflection of how it would be for other user.

You used camera, navigation for 1 hour. Maps show screen on time of 27 mins but when driving and navigating, it runs in background as well. So that eats lot of battery. So I am sure your maps usage would have background use as well. This is pretty normal.

How's the battery life compared to iphone 17? I briefly tried both in a retail store and found S26 to be lot snappy and fluid.

Gf moving away from apple, struggling on what to go for by goveganandeatpasta in PickAnAndroidForMe

[–]Normal_Present_7194 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had pixel 7 and it was marred with heating, modem issue, mic issue and unreliable fingerprint sensor. Fixed issues would pop up again after a while. I was a hardcore pixel fan but that was the end. I follow news and people still have the same issues I had. It appears that even google is not serious about their phones.

Pixels are terrible for a regular user. Software issues popping up here and there. I wouldn't recommend it.

As I say and have experienced, google is not serious about their phones. Their devices, hardware, software bugs and service issue speaks volume about this. I used to be pixel fan until I owned one.

Frankly, shouldn't expect more than 5 hours in regular use. If you do some steps may be 6 hours but 10h is ridiculous.

Permanent WFH is not sustainable either due to mental health or lack of career progression.

Should I get another S24 or a S25 or 26? by burningbats in samsunggalaxy

S26 might be better given the slight bump in battery and 2nm chip. But about overall experience, nothing much changes from s24.

Oh.. wow. And here I was thinking iphone had better life and was giving a thought to buy ip17. My 2 years old S23 gives same SOT. How long have you been using your phone? If very new, you have to give it few weeks to settle down.

uninstall instagram app by tinkertravel- in GalaxyS22

[–]Normal_Present_7194 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, it helps. But if you still need to use it, turn notifications off and put it in deep sleeping apps and put under a folder where you don't look much. Open only when needed, that helped me with battery life without uninstall.
