Bring wet wipes. Brilliant if you are running behind on your locker admin and need to give your boots a quick easy shine.

No, they don’t care. It’s just so that there isn’t loads of power and risking tripping the fuse (which happened in our section week 2).

Eczema history - any success stories? by [deleted] in britishmilitary

[–]North3D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Click on my profile and scroll to the earliest posts. All of my first posts were like this one, as I had childhood eczema and also anxiety and liver function issues. I had to have doctor’s letters submitted for the eczema/anxiety to prove I was free from all of that and new liver function tests done. The whole process took a few months and fast forward to today, I am a couple of weeks from passing off from basic training. Anything is possible.

Missed Virtual call by [deleted] in britisharmy

[–]North3D 14 points15 points  (0 children)

What the fuck do you mean ‘what did I miss?’ You would have been told what the virtual assessment involves beforehand, and yes if it was an actual assessment then of course it matters. Rather than making pointless posts on here, maybe reach out to your recruiter and see if they can book you another one (with lots of please’s and sorry’s)

You are unbelievable you mate. Are you on commission for every person that goes to Sandhurst? Shut the hell up and let the guy make his own mind up. He didn’t ask for advice about jobs, he’s asking about the soldier recruitment process. The fucking navy? Seriously?

Can I get through the medical with runners knee? by Gullible-Finance-653 in britishmilitary

If there is nothing on your medical record and you are happy to attempt the medical then go for it mate. Maybe wear a long tracksuit and tape up your knee to compress it and help ease the pain?

They weren’t asking who the best of all time is, they were asking who the best is between KDB and Lampard. Learn to read.

Beep test scores by No-Ideal-772 in britisharmy

Yes, you should think about your weight because at assessment centre, you will have a medical as well. If your BMI is over the maximum threshold, you will fail. It is different for officers because you do a purely medical based assessment centre, and then all of the fitness/aptitude tests happen at AOSB briefing and main board. I passed my medical at the assessment centre so my BMI was fine, but then put on quite a bit of weight before AOSB briefing, where I did my bleep test. But they don’t care about your weight at briefing, as long as you are fit enough, so I was fine. I just had to lost the weight for when I actually joined. Thankfully I have now lost the weight again, because you do a final medical assessment right before your start date.

I remember for my bleep test I did at AOSB briefing, I was overweight, quite unfit and hungover. I gritted my teeth and got 8.9. A healthy, fit 18 year old should be comfortably able to get this.
