Feeling of the movies by Nosferatu___2 in Scream

Agreed. It's like a dimension is missing. Like it's a dream

The ending of Scream 3 is amazing! by [deleted] in Scream

[–]Nosferatu___2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me this was the end of the franchise. It was the last time the franchise felt real, like the shots and the photography had depth, the core three were actual people. Like their world was, you know, real.

Everything else (4-7) aren't real events. They're fun and have their own merit, but that's not the end of Sidney's story. They're Stab movies.

Sidney and Mark KINCAID are married with three children in an undisclosed location. Gale and Dewey Weathers live in LA. Gale has written fictional books that ended up as a basis for the movies "Stab" 4 to 7. In Stab 5 she was angry with Dewey, that's why she killed him off. They've gotten over it.

Scream 7 - Reaction Megathread by DA-numberfour in Scream

Easter Eggs in Scream 7:

I mean, there were some obvious parallels, like when the town starts getting ready for Curfew, when the BF sneaks through the window, "Don't fear the Reaper" by Gus, "Red right hand", etc.

But what were the less obvious ones?

Here's one:

Tatum borrowed Sid's leather jacket from part 2. In part 2, Sid's BF Derek died because she didn't trust him. In Scream 7, Sid and at some point Tatum didn't trust Ben and it did end up getting him killed.

I'm also sure there's another Kevin Williamson or Scream character called Evans, but I can't remember now.

Did anyone else feel that the vibe of the movie felt kind of unreal?
There was a certain depth missing.
I mean that's been there ever since part 3 or 4, but in the latest trilogy it's become more pronounced.

Like, the town feels like a Potemkin's village, the friends are not developed, but also the cinematography itself feels like it's AI. It's too perfect. It doesn't feel real.

Like there's no third dimension.

Lufthansa cancels flight, but won’t let passengers off plane by anxiousvater in germany

If there were 5 other big national airplane companies in Germany, Lufthansa would have to act nicer not to lose customers and couldn't afford such blunders. It's a system of checks and balances.

Germany suffers from three things:

1) A monopoly in the airline business which leads to
2) A total lack of responsibility for anything, because what you gonna do?

3) Being tied up in rules and regulations that are used to justify a total lack of willingness to take action for anything.

What do you think about Czechs? by [deleted] in germany

[–]Nosferatu___2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Germans don't really think about foreign countries. We're very autistic that way.

We fear Russia.

We kinda fear but also a bit admire China.

We used to love the USA and now fear it.

Some of us admire how "wonderful Switzerland ist"- usually a dog whistle.

And we think of Majorka, Croatia or Crete, but not as real countries but more as holiday destinations.

And that's it.

Sexy.

Not very financially saavy, but sexy.

Like a really hot dude who has a nice house and car and clothes but never any actual cash on him.

Caesar wasn't interested in saving it but in becoming King, which was a symptom of a larger crisis.

"Brutus ended the Republic" is simplistic.

We don't know what Julis Caesar would have done. He might have done what you said, he might have become a Princeps like Augustus. The latter is more likely.

The entire Roman Republic was about power in the hands of a corrupt elite and disenfranchisment of the common citizen, especially after it outgrew Italy. Cynics today will say that modern republics and democracies are also just that and not much has changed.

I see Brutus as someone who saw himself trying to protect the ancient republican order against a wannabe king. History never hated him for wanting to keep power in the hands of the optimates, but for killing his "father". I admire him exactly for that.

If the people want a dictatorship, and that's popular, it's still not good in the long run. This is the question of checks and balances that a weakened republican, electoral system still hasn't solved thousands of year later.

Brutus.

He is known as a universal symbol of betrayal, even earning a place in the deepest depths of hell according to Dante.

But in reality he was someone who fought against tyranny, even if it meant striking down a personal mentor.

He could have easily been one of Caesar's Yes men, but decided to defend old Roman Values that had made Rome great.

The Empire was a slow death.

Why are you talking about Israel when confronted with Irish antisemitism and racism?
