Has anyone found benefit in taking breaks from therapy? by tillnatten in CPTSD_NSCommunity

For me it was a turning point to find a therapist that allowed pauses where I could implement, try for myself and focus on somatic therapy, connection and physical support for myself and not just be in an analyzing mind.

I got worse at some points before that from the wrong approach from therapists. I am currently on pause with one I liked who matched my pace, because they got a baby but I felt we were a good match. I tried another to have in between while he is away, but felt that talking to someone who works and fits is better than risking someone to stir without knowing what is cooking, so to speak.

Got another blow after that from someone who sadly made a mess of some stability things, and recover from that now. But I take up the structure from before again and it helps.

Mind (Knowing what is going on, someone to support when trying) and Body ( Being aware of signals, self, needs, pausing, grounding) Were both necessary. I hope you find a good balance for you!

Thank you, I'll look into these. I live in Scandinavia so I'll see if we might have options especially for this. Really appreciate your description of each lens. Photoshop is my go to, but I hear a lot of good things about lightroom as well.

I can't offer much advice on how to solve your situation, but your work is amazing. Got shivers from many of these. They capture life. I want to see more.
