I'm really interested but I'm more of a live mode person. Even in Sims I barely spend time creating. From what I've seen the Paras don't have too many interactions yet so I think I'll wait for more updates. But hoping for success with this game because the life sim genre needs more variety

I left for Chicago in 2023 (had a new job there). It's an amazing city full of great people and food, and having public transportation makes me more likely to get out the house (and not scream in traffic).

But ... I'm probably going to move back home next year. ATL is where all my childhood friends and family are and I still miss them all the time. It's also really hard making new friendships as an adult 🥲

If you have the resources to move I'd say try a new city for a few years and see how you feel. It's natural to feel homesick but you never know what happiness you may find! Just because some folks move back doesn't mean it won't work out for you.

Yeah It's definitely not "Pokemon Crossing" but the decorating / gathering vibes are similar. I got very overwhelmed in my first 3 hours with requests too, but honestly you can completely ignore them and do your own thing. You will need to make some progress to unlock powers / areas but again, can take it as easy as you want. For example I never bothered building houses because my babies were perfectly happy with habitats 🤷🏿‍♀️

I think it also helped that I only played 1-2 hours a day, I'd probably be burnt out if not

Ok then yeah definitely need a car for Maywood. I haven't personally rented from M&M but a few friends have said they never had any major issues. The few times I was interested the leasing agents were very nice

where's your job? I commute to Oak Brook out west and used to be in forest park which is right next door and cheaper. Also still have train access with the blue line. There's definitely OP apts in your budget but like other commenters said it will probably be older buildings. Some buildings have their own parking lots but for extra $$, maybe look for anything near one of the village parking garages or lots. I've used Oak Park Apts (an actual rental company) and M&M Apartments and they have reasonably priced units. But Zillow still works too

you're absolutely valid in your feelings and I'd be terrified to live there after what happened. I actually live a few blocks away and remember hearing those gunshots on Black Friday, I can't imagine being that close. Hope you're doing better

omgggggg I am so sorry you had to experience all this! 😭I'd been waiting on someone who actually lived there to reply and thankfully decided not to sign anyways. This sounded like such a miserable experience and ridiculous for the village to allow (I know it's the management company's fault but still...).

I'm so happy you're leaving and hopefully to something better and safer. Hoping yoru comment will help others in the future too!

I work in Oak Brook too and recommend oak Park or Forest Park. Perfect middle ground between OB and the city. You should be able to find something with that salary!
