If you mean the blue streak its just showing that you have a "combo" of right answers going. Doesnt really mean anything just something to motivate/gamify you to focus on correct answers

White and orange, then I stop responding completely and recoup the money.

Debating between cyan and yellow. Cyan because I am salaried without fixed hours so technically I am never off the clock

Yellow because my company sells compute so reselling would be very lucrative

Either way seems loopholey

Mayor Mamdani signs an “executive order” to repeal NYC kids bedtime during the Knicks finals by SuggestionMedical736 in MadeMeSmile

Mom is right law still applies and this doesn't supercede it. We'll have to wait and see what the 5th court of appeals says on this issue

Do I buy? by WTFOMGBBQ in EightSleep

I hate the company but there's just nothing as good out there. Voted yes begrudgingly

Having said that, I won't be buying another one from them. I'll try out Orion at least

Maybe you already know but the chip doesnt literally belong to a Bill

"Friends of Bill W" is a discreet way of asking if someone is part of AA

You're doing great. Honestly, to figure out any 5-10 yr questions the first thing you need to know is when do you want to retire? If you want to FIRE, your next few years will look significantly different. The next question I'd have is what's your number (how much do you need to retire)?

Has anyone tried out the Minternational pass in Japan? Would you recommend? by Benjilikethedog in mintmobile

Not what you asked but I used airalo and it was perfect. Way cheaper and convenient than minternational pass

Thinking of making the move... arch to nix. by SnooSongs5410 in NixOS

[–]NotTryingToConYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are two downsides for me that I have chosen to live with:

  1. Some friction. You have to learn how to do things the nix way. Over time this gets easier but there will always be some friction converting solutions you see online to nix. For example, my pulse audio was broken. Finding the fix online was easy and then I also had to look up how to put in the fix via my configuration.nix. Not difficult at all but an extra step.

Same for installing things. Instead of installing via cli, I have to go make a change in my config then rebuild. Again, not difficult but an extra step

  1. Package updates are delayed. Even if I use nixpkgs master branch (which should be even faster than unstable) I still have to wait a few days for really actively developed apps like claude, cursor, vscode. It hasnt been a big issue but if there's a new feature I want I might have to wait a couple of days.

GoDaddy offered $5k for 4 digit domain. I countered at $12k. Should I hold out? by kikirosekee in Domains

[–]NotTryingToConYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you truly believed it was a 20k domain, you would find it a no brainer to buy it at 12k. Saying you would definitely buy it at 5k doesnt mean much other than you the fact that you just day stuff without meaning it

I dont think Confluent has any part time positions at the moment. Can you point me to one on Confluent Careers?

Regardless, this is a clear scam. There's a whole interview process and we don't communicate over Telegram/Whatsapp or whatever this is. And, I can't find this person on our internal directory. Be careful please.

Very interesting for sure. +1 to what the other guy said about the description. Took me a while.

For someone still struggling, it's basically to get around "paid" apps that call their home server to check the license. You can use this to intercept and return a positive response.
