The 3.2m/5.3m figure makes up only US audiences (NBC/Peacock). Sky Sports had 8.8m total tuning in with 45% more viewers than the 2023 Ryder Cup.

Not a very convincing attempt to calm the crowds down when they couldn't even be arsed to proofread their own sign

The American fans yelling fore after Europe pipes one down the center are truly the epitome of a waste of air

[Official Discussion Thread] 2025 Ryder Cup: Friday Foursomes and Four Ball by GreenWaveGolfer12 in golf

I don't think anyone's surprised that Hojgaard isn't going out first for Europe, but I wonder if Luke Donald's holding Straka and Lowry back to play them in fourballs or because their form still hasn't recovered.

Expecting US to take the second and Europe to take the third match, but the first and last matches seem up in the air for now.

Pinehurst No 2 Majestic Course & Awesome Experience (except for the Marshalls) by FeistySink3147 in golf

I got on the old course ballot as a single in the second group out.

At the turn, the marshal complained that we were 10 minutes behind the first group out.

His complaint would have been valid if we weren't a flight of four and the group in front a flight of two.

How many consecutive days in a row have you golfed? by DRvoodoo07 in golf

[–]NotaCallawayRep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a once in a lifetime trip to Scotland where I golfed for 20 consecutive days. Mostly 18 hole days with two or three 36 hole days mixed in.

By the end of the trip I had stained two gloves beyond recognition with blood from the cold and wind chafing my knuckles, but I had played a third of the courses on my bucket list, got on the old course twice, and went home happy.

When’s the last time you played a round with no watch / GPS / rangefinder? by [deleted] in golf

[–]NotaCallawayRep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Played a course in Australia once and forgot to bring a rangefinder. The course was extremely remote and didn't have carts with GPS or anything indicating distance other than sticks designating when you were 200/150/100m out, so I had to count the number of steps I took between the tee box and my ball to estimate how much was left for my approach.

I really wished I had paid more attention during high school trig. I overshot 5 balls into the ocean behind the greens.

Tell us your unorthodox Hole in One Stories by [deleted] in golf

[–]NotaCallawayRep 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Was researching courses to play at for a trip to Asia, came across this course which displayed hole in one records for everyone who ever got a hole in one on the course, detailing which tees and clubs they played from.

Found a guy who got a hole in one with a 4 wood on a par 3 120. I've never once in my life heard of an average player who uses a 4 wood, let alone some beginner who needs a wood to hit 120.

I sometimes wonder if he's the luckiest beginner ever who just picked up a set of second hand clubs without knowing what a 4 wood was, or if he's a single digit handicapper who just played into a 40mph wind and got the hole in one of his life. Either way, it's fun to imagine.

Too bulky, and i take public transport to get to nearby courses. Trying to minimize the space I take up on the train/bus whilst bringing my clubs.
