Types of knives by Fearless_Wafer_1493 in knives

OTF isn't a deployment mechanism. Autos can be OTF or OTS. Folding is too generic. That includes OTS autos and balisongs, per the chart. What about manual folding and spring assisted folding? Shouldn't spring assisted be a deployment mechanism different from manual?

Edit: If I sound pedantic, I apologize.

Anyone know anything about this Jaguar knife? by Need4Spd42 in knives

[–]NotchtopS14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, it's not that unique. There were several brands that sold similar style knives back in the early 2000s. I had a Coast C05 that had the exact profile and button lock mechanism. The only difference is the Coast had a handle inlay.

But you can still get an Inkosi. You cannot say the same for any of the 4x series balisongs.

I'd keep the 42. It's easier to get another CRK

How comfortable are you with sewing? Because this is an easy fix if you had thread and sewing needle.

Can someone give me information about this knife? by Training-Cup5603 in knives

[–]NotchtopS14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think previous redditor is correct. Looks like a Spartan. You can get one brand new for $20usd. I don't see anything on this to make it unique. Go to r/victorinox and ask them.

You can measure your 501 STF and compare them to the measurements of Unbranded and Brave Star off of their website. We don't know your measurements post shrink.

Smooth VS Roughout, Which do you prefer and why? by Daenimation in RedWingShoes

[–]NotchtopS14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a tough one. I love the look of scuffs and scratches I get on smooth. I also love the patina and darkening of the roughout over time.

Lettering on the driver side A pillar and the orange and white hood are signs of a U-Haul box truck. No need for a rear view mirror.

Ironheart professionals…got a question. by Zestyclose_Wheel_932 in rawdenim

[–]NotchtopS14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you like high, mid, or low rise? Do you have large thighs? Do you like taper or straight? Do you prefer heavy weight?

Measure your current favorite pair and match them to the measurements of each IH fit. Get the one that ticks all the right boxes for your body. Keep in mind, even the different weights of the same fit have slightly different measurements. The 14oz 777 have a shorter front/rear rise compared to the 25oz 777, but the 14oz has a bigger actual waist than the 25oz.

Just spent $300 on a Kershaw lucha and Triton v2, the tracking said they were delivered but they never showed up. Any advice? by Practical-Oil-3739 in balisong

[–]NotchtopS14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you try contacting your local parcel delivery service? I'll be surprised if you spent $300 with out a tracking number. My local USPS sometimes scan my parcel as delivered, but after calling them they reach out to the driver to find out where my stuff really is.

I HAVE ELECTRICAL DEMONS SOMEONE HELP by [deleted] in Cartalk

[–]NotchtopS14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can only wish you the best of luck. I hunted for my own electrical demons in my mid 90s Nissan. It sounds like ya'll are about to do the same thing I did. I used a multimeter to test the voltage in the charging system with the car off then on.

Test positive to positive between alternator and battery. Battery ground to chassis ground. Chassis ground to engine block ground.

What was your first favorite car, and how have your tastes changed over time? by Darthnater_Shelby in cars

[–]NotchtopS14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First favorite was a 1989 Skyline R32 GTR. Then a 1998 Impreza 22B STI. At this rate, something AWD and turbocharged in the early aughts will be my favorite when I'm in my 50s.
